Forfeiting Picks?

Sun Nov 06, 2005 1:32 pm

alright, as you all know, in live, when you draft a rookie, he is automatically signed. However, live does not allow you to have more than 15 players on your roster at ANY time (including the off season), so has anyone seen teams forfeit their picks in the dynasty because of the lack of roster space? i havent finished my first year yet so i havent but wondering if anyone else has.

I've seen CPU teams forfeit their picks from time to time. In the past I've often forfeited my second round pick if it's low, since there's seldom a diamond in the rough that low.

Same here. I'm about 6-7 years into my Dynasty and teams have done it quite a few times. With my Lakers team I just forfeited my second round draft pick because the draft was "very weak" and I wanted to preserve cap space for free agent signings.

That's assuming the other team is interested in your pick.

how about forfeiting picks because your forced to since you dont have enough roster space? has anyone seen the computer or has anyone tried this?

Yeh I have but that was in 2004 and 2005...I liked all my players that I wasn't willing to give them up. In 2004 it was so easy to get 3-4 first round picks from other teams that eventually, you had to forfeit...would I "Allen Houston" a player who had a 300,000 point salary?!?

hahahahaha 300,000 point salaries... I thought we'd never get rid of those days...

Well, I suppose it could have happened. NBA Live 2005 and 06 both present you with the option of releasing players to make room for draft picks.
