Editing with DBF Editor

Wed Oct 19, 2005 5:17 pm

I used DBF editor to edit some players. In the players.dbf file, the changes are there, but in the game they are not.

In tyhe past this worked, but now I edit the file in saves, in the appropriate dir, and it ignores the changes in the game. Even just changing the name.

Obviously, you're doing something wrong. It works fine for me. What did you try to change?
Also, did you exit the game to edit the dbfs or did you change them while live was running? If so, the changes should apply after reloading.

I tried to edit stats like primacy for some rookie players. The weird thing is there were two versions of the players in the DBF.

One was on the original team that drafted them, the other was on the right team.

I first edited the one on the right team, then the one on the original team which worked.

For example, there was a player on Orlando traded to Chicago. To edit him, I have to edit the copy still on Orlando.

Moved to Patching Issues.

Since when is editing a patching issue?

Well editing the game is essentially what patching is; patching isn't just graphical.
(That's why it's called a 'Roster Patch', not a 'Roster Edit'.)

Ask for assistance or offer help with any issues regarding patches.
That's what he did...

Try going into save/load and load the file you just edited. Unless your editing the original files I dont know why they would show up.
