Jeresy patchers: about the new texture in the unifom .viv

Mon Oct 03, 2005 8:43 pm

It deals with lighting, pretty much looks like a "channel' in terms of adobe speak. It just picture the jersy and the side panels (if any).

Can we make our own or should we find a similar one in another jersey to use?

Are you talking about the smaller pic, that is all black and white/greyscale?

If so, then I think this is a bump map file.

Because I've made new jersey textures with new creases/folds/mesh, yet the original creases and mesh appear through lighting/bumps because of this file.

You can change it, I just made a greyscale version of the jersey texture I did and it worked better.

But it's funny playing around with it, you can get some interesting lighting and shadows depending on what you do.

Yeah that's it Admiral, thanks for the info.

It kind of scared me off a bit at first, in terms of patching, but now that I know it's all good.

Thanks again man.

So this is just a heightmap, with black being closest to the skin and white being furthest out? It doesn't make sense that some of the neck trims are bright white then though in the EA defaults.

I just repost my jersey texture in the smaller one and the lighting appears very nicely given it a small shine effect...similar to that of the Xbox jerseys.
