Where the F is the D?

All we've seen is trick passes and dunks. Yeah we know you can dunk on people. again. and again. and again. and again. and again-well I see everybody dunking on everybody else, like Raymond Felton jumping over Dan Dickau like VC did in the olympics, and it seems we are missing something. DEFENSE

How can Dwight Howard dunk on Shaq like that and Shaq do absolutely nothing about it? EA has to realize that there's got to be something to counter every gameplay addition in order to make a great game. Sure I like the dunking on and all that, but I don't want to be up 1 with the Bobcats and all of a sudden Earl Watson comes through the lane and dunks on Emeka Okafor. There's always something going on that we don't know about and I hope that there's some kind of defensive freestyle or something to counter all these offensive additions.

These dunking on people things should have a higher risk of missing since you are trying to jump over somebody and hammer it down. Unfortunately if they don't, Andrew might be busy changing all the dunk packages in the dbf lol.

No what he was trying to do was make a comparsion from when Felton was dunking over everybody in that rookie video. And I have to agree, every since I saw that first video ever released for the actual game coming out in October, I knew there was going to be something wrong after seeing everyone getting dunked on and especially when I saw the rookie video with Felton.

They are only showing offense so far... they havent showed ANY blocks at all yet ... they probably made it so that shaq didnt jump in that play so everyone could see what dwight would do.

Relax dudes! There are 6 categories on the NEW SUPERSTAR mode and one of them is STOPPER (defense) and I guess there will be 2 types for the defense dep't. so stay cool and EA wud definitely release updates with rgds to Counter-DEFENSE for this SUPERSTAR moves..

What was the biggest complaint of 2005? The slow passing and no fast breaks right? Expect 2006 to have fast passing and way too many fast breaks and worse defense. Count on it. They always take it to the extremes. Superstar system won't change much. Seriously, you think they'll make it harder for you to use that system? Of course not. You won't use it if defensive superstar usually wins. Would you have used the pro-hop in 2004 if it was as ineffective as in 2005? Of course not. Using this same logic, the Superstar system will be too effective and probably the game will be very offensive. History seems to dictate this...

I'm hoping that the game won't be too offensive minded, because I still like going for the stop in a clutch game too. I find that more exciting sometimes. But of course the first thing they're going to do is show all the highlight dunks so everyone can oh and ah at them.

I agree with Clip, they are still very early previews, and the other categories haven't been disclosed yet. Do you really expect them to show the defensive side of the game in a highlight about the new flashy passing and dunking? It'll come in due time...

That's not the point. The point is, some of these dunks are absurd, a lot of them that you never see in real life, regardless of how frequent it will happen. As for Howard over Shaq, Shaq might not be able to jump at the time, but he sure as hell is going to contest it.
