Some 06 questions, to Andrew & Co.

Just got the game for 1€ from Ebay. Italian "nice-price" version (Gazzetta dello sport). The manual is Italian, that's why I understand just nothing.

Have to choose between 2005 and 06.

My questions:

1) I play 2005 and 06 with high settings. And medium lights. My PC is old, I have 1 GB ram, 3.2 ghz, ATI Radeon 9600 128 MB graphics. The graphics of 06 are better as everyone says but still the game does not lag and it seems that 06 is more fluent than 2005. Why?

2) How do you back down without the back-down button?

3) I don't know how to use freestyle superstar.

4) Is this a joke? In 2005 player introductions are used for exhibition games but not for season games, in 06 it is the other way round.

press superstar trigger (c by default) and d (shot)/s (dunk)/x (pass)/e (pro-hop) for different moves.

Use the right analog(freestyle stick) and hold down. Kind of sucky but you will get used to it.

Do all superstars of the same group (e.g. shooters) have the same superstar moves or are some moves also unique, e.g. Bryant having a shot nobody else has?

Is there a difference between a normal jumpshot and a superstar jumpshot move? I tried it with Nowitzki. One superstar move was some sort of jumper...is the chance to make the shot higher when I use a superstar jumpshot or are both jumpshots equally good?

Another question: I got Jonthefon's SGSM folder with cyberfaces and portraits for Live 2005. Now I need the latest roster with cyberfaces etc. for 06 as well. Where can I get these?

Ok, played a game with Andrew's sliders on All-star. Some traits of 06 are nice but there are some really horrible aspects.

Couldn't find a patch to this game. Is there any?

=> rebounding looks strange, blocking as well
=> collision detection is bad: players have arms and legs moving through other players
=> players look cartoony or like made of chocolate. The whole game has strange colors.
=> sometimes players don't run but are ice-skating
=> is it easy! The cpu doesn't guard me tightly, just watches me play. When I shoot my defender doesn't jump

Those things spoil fun. I think I stick to 2005.

They did change it, perhaps because a lot of people did complain about the lack of introductions when playing a Dynasty/Season.

May I ask why you play a 06 dynasty? Why do you prefer 06 over 2005?

Do you use custom AIACTS? How is your 06 set up?

I don't use any custom aiact.viv files. I use my own sliders that I devised when NBA Live 06 was still new, I haven't made any adjustments to them recently. As to why I'm playing an 06 Dynasty rather than 2005, I already had an 06 Dynasty running which I've recently gone back to which I suppose is the main reason.

How do you defend in this game? My offense is ok but I can't play D. The computer always runs to the basket for the easy 2. I can stand in his way but he gets by. I can push, run, stand there, jump...still he scores way too many points. I can't even get a single block.

Sometimes I just let the CPU guard players on the perimeter while I control one of the bigs and patrol the lane but if I am controlling a defender on the perimeter I like to either use the Hands Up or Defensive Crouch stances and get right in the opponent's face to the point of bumping him.

The CPU does have an annoying habit of getting to the basket easier than it should. If a player gets too deep, your only real hope is to have someone in there who can either block the shot or force a bad adjustment.
