"D-Pad" refers to the direction buttons (as opposed to the left analog stick on a dual analog gamepad).

Just a question, I think it fits in here although I am playing 07.
I use the D-Pads to run since I cannot handle the analog stick for moving so I tried to give the left analog stick the tactics/strategies, but this does not work. I have the PS2 controller and simply no other free buttons for the strategies .... Does anybody know how to solve it (maybe via keyboard) ?

would be nice, thx

well i use a psx/ps2 style controller for the PC version. Everything works just fine.

I use the direction pad to move the player, and then there are two sticks to use on it aswell. The d-pad reffers to the sticks. left stick up is one play, then up stick, right, down are others. So you have four plays. The stick also can be pushed in till it clicks, but that button is not used in nba live.

The other stick is uses to dribble the ball, left and right are hard right and left dribbles, up is a 360 spin, down is a crossover behind the legs that comes in handy to do a fake run forward then go back that can often trick your opponent into dashing one way and almost tripping, then you can make an easy open 3 pointer.

hope that makes sense and helps. If not, check that your control pad is working correctly. I've heard from some people that the cheaper imitation controllers they have only look like they have all the buttons but not all of them actually work.
