DB Commander

Postby Mike^ on Tue Aug 29, 2006 8:45 am

Hi, i have a question about the program. I installed it, opened players.dbf and did just like it said in the guide from the main site. Now after i changed the Salary for one player, i went out, started my NBA Live 2006 and went to my saved Dynasty but his salary was the same. I thought that it was because it was previously saved so i started a new Dynasty but his salary was the same. Why is that?

You might be making the same mistake I made when I started using DBC and thats not clicking the little tick icon to confirm the changes, just an idea.

I can't remember off the top of my head and I don't have the program any more but I think it's some where in the middle and it's part of a toolbar. If the changes are still appear in DBC after opening it up the file again but not in game I don't what's going on, be sure you have edited the right entry.

Also, there are 2 entries for each player on your dynasty. I don't know if this matters, but make sure you are editing the salaries of the right player. Or better yet perhaps, edit both.

2 entries? Hmm, i just found Shaquille O'Neal for example, edited Cash_Total or what the name is but it didn't change in the Dynasty

by 2 entries, I meant that if you have Shaq on your team, then in players.dbf, you will have shaq twice. if you use the search button and type shaq, it will find one of them. if you then press the "find next" button, you will find another shaq.

Okay i found that, but my question is, which players.dbf must i edit? I found three: in the main folder/originaldb, in My Documents: workingdb, currentdb. Which one?

None of them. It's better to edit a saved roster file since you can easily reload it after making changes. Or if you want to edit a Dynasty in progress, edit the dbf in the appropriate save folder. Just be sure to make a backup in case anything goes wrong.
