Patching PS2 versions

Assuming that patching can be done at all on the PS2... What are the limits? Can we do nearly as much as we an on the PC? If so, how?

Negative. I believe there's a way to update the rosters, but that's about it, to my knowledge.

It might be possible if someone could figure out how to edit .ssh files and import them back into the game.

As of now this can't be done.

I tried to work on this by hexediting the .ssh header to "SHPI" from "SHPS", then opening it with FshEd and it extracted the files inside the .ssh....they became .bin files, but I can't figure out how to open the .bin files.

yes reburn on DVD disc, or import rebuilt .iso on harddrive....I've done it with MVP 2005.
