Opteron performance playing Live?

Anybody in here own an opteron processor? if so how does it handle Nba Live 2006 ? I ask coz I'm thinking about getting Opteron 165.

Any reason why your'e purchasing a server CPU, when you can pick up a dual-core 64bit AMD with better clock speed? You don't need to pick up a workstation processor, besides, Live 06 doesn't rely too heavily on the CPU. Its mostly pixel shaders running mad, which in case would be your video card.

The reason why I'm choosing a server CPU is because they have been throughly tested for rigorous stability and therefore should be more reliable than any consumer cpu. In addition to that, Opteron 165 is way cheaper than its closest X2 competitor.

This is what I'm looking at:

CPU: Opteron 165@1.8 (Will be overclocking this)
MOBO: Asus A8N-SLI Premium
GPU: XFX 6800 XT 256MB DDR3 PCI-E
HD: Seagate 7200.9 300 GB
PS: Antec TII 550 Watts

What do you guys think?

This system is well under $1000 and that's how I wanna keep it because I still wanna keep some of my computer old parts which aren't even a year old such as my Lite-On DVD-ROM and DVD-RW, my 2 Seagate ATA HD's, etc etc.

I'm just saying that workstation processors aren't built for your average motherboard, and sometimes, even your operating system. There have been problems with Opterons involving voltage in the past, but as long as you know what you're doing, you should be fine. Btw, your PS is a bit over the top for a 6800, but I guess you can never get enough wattage.

EDIT: Don't forget to make sure your new rig has a good cooling system. A Dual-Core Opteron (OCd) sitting beside a 550 Watt PS, with two HDs running like bitches just might cause some heat.
