Wolves dynasty without KG

Postby Ty-Land on Tue May 02, 2006 10:23 pm

Just wondering if people consider the following a fair trade. I wanted to do a Minnesota Dynasty, but on the basis of rumours and speculation, trade Garnett for a few young players with potential. What do you think:

KG and Dupree or Reed

FOR

Tyson Chandler and Luol Deng

Is this a fair trade?

Cheers Ty

Pretty lopsided in Chicago's favour because of KG's value but considering what Chandler and Deng can do in the game, perhaps not as bad as it looks.

Well it does provide the wolves to gain a little cap space, fills a glaring hole at the centre position, allows Griffin to start at PF and have Davis as starting SG. While KG is a player that could step in immediately and play great for the Bulls, Chandler and Deng are young and have lots of potential. They might not produce fantastic numbers straight away but they should down the track. Give the wolves a young starting 5 and a chance to rebuild for the posy KG era.

At least in live, when I tried the trade and simmed forward a bit, Deng and Chandler played exceptionally well while KG struggled in Chicago but i think thats because of the primacy calculations which I would need to alter.

Agreed, it would be an interesting challenge and there are benefits to the deal. That said, on paper the trade favours Chicago because of KG's value. I'm sure you could make it work though. (Y)

a deal without Gordon being involved just doesn't seem realistic IMHO....I am talking IRL of course though

well I wanted to have a starting line-up of:

Chandler
Griffin
Deng
Davis
Banks

With Jaric and McCants being the 6th and 7th man.

While Gordon would be good, I didn't think the wolves really needed another SG. IRL I imagine Gordon would be part of the trade but I want to develop McCants and potentiallt trade Davis in the future.

A benefit for this trade for Chicago is that it gives them a legit PF and allows Nocioni to develop as a starter SF, rather than competing with Deng or playing out of position at PF.

The X, what would you recommend as a trade to be the most realistic in real life? Involve which additional players? Interested what you would think as a viable trade acceptable by both sides.

well in real life Chicago would have to take back at least a bad contract along with KG (i.e. Hudson or Jaric)

When I played with the Wolves in Dynasty I once traded KG + Griffin (don't like EG at all) + Hudson for Deng + Chandler + Sweet
Of course you would also get back NYs first

Another options would be to trade KG and Jaric for Kwame Odom and Georg

Well I'm using Andrews latest roster patch and it worked because of Chandlers salary (approx $10Mil) and there cap space which was about $10mil.

yeah, if only you could trade picks. that's a main dynasty thing they need to do, improve EVERYTHING to do with draft picks

a Garnett deal to Chicago would have to involve Tyson Chandler (for $ purposes) & either Kirk Hinrich (they really need a starting PG) or Ben Gordon....that's a start off....if Gordon was in the deal, then Bulls would also send someone like Duhon to T'wolves....a 1st Rd pick would also go Minny's way....Bulls would get Garnett & either Banks or someone like that....

but if we're talking Live, do what you want....as long as you're happy with it, then (Y)

I think minnesota will have to get what seems as a lop sided trade. There is no player than can get back (that would ever be traded) that is as good as garnett.
