Talk about NBA Live 06 here.

who will be FSSS in nba live 07? who did you edit for 06?

Postby kingjames23 on Wed Apr 05, 2006 6:37 am

now that the 06 season is almost over, what players do you guys think will gain, or lose freestyle abilities in nba live 07? what players did you edit in this years game because you think they should have had a special ability in 06?

for me, in the 06 season, i edited these players to be

outside scorers hamilton, stackhouse, finley
inside scorers webber, antoine walker
shooter damon jones, billups
highflyer nate robinson, hakeem warrick
playmaker telfair
power curry
stopper mutumbo, mourning

do you guys agree with this?

who did you change for this years game?

who will be freestyle superstar players in the 07 game?

Actually, I used liv's aiact file with his players.dbf and it gives pretty every player a deserves a FSS one, but doesn't change their ratings. I find it to work perfectly.

Highflyer - Melo
Shooter- Mo Peterson, Gilbert Arenas, Szcerbiak, Eddie House, Eddie Jones, Billups
Playmaker - Chris Paul
Outside stopper - Gerald Wallace, Mo Peterson
Outside Scorer - Rip Hamilton, Mike James

Got rid of:
Jamaal Crawford's outside scorer
Stromile Swift's highflyers
Gerald Greens highflyer

I think thats all..
PS please dont make Nate Robinson a highflyer he has like 15 dunks in a year
Also Antoinne Walker barely gets his baskets inside

One thing i had trouble with was deciding if Rip Hamilton deserved to be a FSS, first I thought shooter but i guess he aint an awesome 3pt shooter (however he is great from mid range) but then hes not really an outside scorer since he doesnt drive often and do heaps of adjusted lay-ups.

IMO i think shooter is best for him, even though he isnt the best 3pt shooter he is still efficient this season, .455 or something from the feild, and hes also a geat mid range shooter, basically shooting and running off the ball are his game so being a shooter seems semi appropriate.

I think they should reall include a outside shooter and mid range shooter FSS since there are players who are really good from mid range, but then seem to loose effecincy from out deep.

Anyway hope someone can give me come good feedback on that as Rip is on of the players I respect the most on the league (mainly for the fact he made the most of his strengths).

I agree with your assesment there about Rip. I think that if they are going to have the FSS in next years game it needs some work. I think that they should expand it to include more types. Maybe a mid-range scorer, or something like that. maybe they could have a slasher or penatrator type. Maybe they could make a lock down defender type for guys like bruce bowen. i dont know though. what does everyone else think? I also think that it shouldnt soley be dependant on ratings, because it is obvious that they fudged some players ratings in order to make them FSS.

if antion walker isnt an inside scorer... outside maybe? he does chuck up alot of 3's but he doesnt shoot ft's very well, not enough to justify an 85 rating to get him to be a shooter

actually im thinking about making rip hamilton a shooter... he's leading the league in 3pt% and he shoots 84% from the line

could sheed be an outside scorer or shooter? he does shoot from the outside alot

A good example for that would also be Grant Hill. He hardly shoots 3's but has an awesome Mid-Range shot...

call me a homer if you like but i think mike james needs to be alot more of a better scorer in 07, not a scorer as in FSS type, but a much better player. and mo pete should be a shooter and i think we can all agree on that. if there was a mid range scorer CB4 would be that just cause he knocks down 15-18 footers all the time.

i think recalling korver's 3pt rating is a bad idea, i mean i dont think you guys would know it from looking at my sig or avatar, but im really not a big korver fan, lol.

He is one of the better shooters in the nba, if guys like mike miller and rashard are shooters, so should be korver

I think the superstar trigger was a total failure. It added nothing to the game. I hope they just change the game from the ground up.

i think the superstar features need more versatility. People should be able to include multiple animations. Ray allen should have all some of the shooting characteristics, like the quick release, but he should have those tough jumpers that outside/inside scorers have, and the same goes for steve nash, he should have the playmaker passes but also the inside scoring layups. Shaq should have those inside scoring hook shots to go along with his power moves.

I hope in 07 they either expand the FSS repatoire or make it more versatile, sort of like the AIACT edits that have been posted but without the bugs.... lol.

What if they let you choose which moves you wanted to be able to have based on the different FSS categories your player belongs too? Shaq can be a power and an inside scorer, therefore, you can pick from any of those moves. LeBron and Kobe can have some outside scorer moves along with that highflying ability to change the game with a monster dunk.

For created players they should allow you to choose, and the options should change in different situations. On the fast break some moves should be enabled, in traffic others should, if you cut into the lane and create an opening other moves should be enabled.

If they really expaneded on the FSS abilities it could really become an awesome and unrivaled system.

I think that would be frusterating sometimes. Its not always clear cut as to whether your are on a fast break or in traffic, so I worry that you would end up doing something you hadnt planned on, which would really piss me off. i dont mind when i screw up and its my fault, when it's the CPU's fault, i cant stand it.
