Does putting your hands up (right analog stick up) contest the shot? Or do you have to attempt to block the shot, using the block button.

IF they put their hands up then yeah it'll affect your shot a little. It won't have the same affect as jumping but it will lower your opponent's field goal percentage.

Well, in the real world it does affect some players a tad just knowing they're there but yeah, I highly doubt it affects it in Live 06.
