help on trading with the Sonics...

Postby chinese_kid_88 on Sun Feb 12, 2006 1:14 am

Well here are a few trades that i tried on my dynasty...

V. Potapenko [C, 61, 9year pro] & J. Petro [C, 56, Rookie] ---> R. Felton [Bobcats, PG, 73, Rookie]

R. Swift [C, 60, 1year pro] & R. Murray [SG, 68, 3year pro] ---> A. Bogut [Bucks, C, 74, Rookie]

R. Evans [PF, 63, 3year pro] & M. Cleaves [PG, 57, 4year pro] ---> M. Webster [Portland, SG, 70, Rookie]

few more idea trades lol ...

V. Radmanovic [PF, 68, 4year pro] ---> M. Redd [Bucks, SG, 76, 5year pro]

also i done a trade with Phoenix Suns but it was a bit stupid really once the trade went through lol ... when the trade went through, you final roster will only have 8 players [Starting 5 and 3 on the bench]

if you want to know the trade for the Suns then post it up asking for what trade info lol ...

Hope this might help you :D

For the Supersonics,<I am a die hard Sonics fan>They are in dire need of a strong big man. I think Robert Swift has developed nicely...but his ratings in game don't show that. So you will have to trade to get someone better.

People you want to get rid of:
Ronald Murray<last year on contract, gonna want to get paid next season>
Anyone sucking up cap space. ie. Fortson, Potopenko and Wilkins. Wilkins is a good player in real life, but his ratings don't reflect that in game. Mainly because there isn't a rating for hustle and grit. So based on his ratings, he isn't worth the 4.5 mil in game. You also want to get rid of on of your young C's. Having two that need heavy development doesn't make any sense.
And I know I don't sound like a die hard fan for saying this, but...
You might want to consider trading Allen. He is worth the huge contract he has now, but by the end of his contract you might wish you had traded him while you had the chance. But this is only if you plan on playing out a dynasty for multiple seasons.

Targets:
Power prescence Centers <or PF/C>with upside- Curry, Okafor, Howard, Stoudamire, etc
Young lock down perimeter defenders- like Diaw, Iguodala, Josh Smith, etc.
Back up scoring PG since you have a playmaker in Ridinour- Like Nate Robinson, salim stoudamire or Eddie House.

Possible trades?
SEA Allen/Murry/Collison- NY-Curry/Robinson/Hardaway<Expiring contract=lots of cap space for free agency market>
SEA Allen/Ridenour/Petro - Mil Ford/Redd/Gadzuric<tencious rebounder/shot blocker> Getting youth and more potential.
SEA Allen/Murray/Ridenour - PHI Iguodala/Korver/Dalembert
SEA Fortson/Potapenko - ATL Salim Stoudamire<Free up cap space>
SEA Wilkens - PHI Korver
SEA Swift/Murray - GS Biedrins<C with amazing potential>
SEA Murray/Petro - PHX Diaw

There are a ton of trades that can be done to improve the overall quality of a Sonics Dynasty. But if you want an elite C/PF, I would consider trading Allen since Lewis will be a stud for years to come. You can always do those cheap trade where you trade 3 low-mid 60 players to a team with 2 spots open for a 80+ big man...but I really don't think that is realistic. So as you see my trades are not looking at over all ratings. Just what will benefit the team. Right now it needs a strong defensive presence down low and some good potential. Seattle has a lot of potential, but it is extremely raw potential. There are better players out there to train. IF you want a tip on training your team in the off season, peak at my thread here labelled "8 man roster bonus"

Sorry for the lengthy post. I have a sonics dynasty too. But sadly the only player I really stayed true to in the long run was Lewis. He is all the scoring you will ever need. hehe. But, he is a defensive liability, so be sure to surround him with defensive studs in the future. Good luck with your dynasty.

Peace out.
