1) When purchasing computers, pay strict attention to power supplies. Anything below 300 watts will have to be upgraded sooner or later. New Vid cards need power. And lots of it.
2) Integrated chipsets = guaranteed death. Upgrade your video card as soon as possible. Don't whine that your games run fine. Your computer sucks. Don't have the cash? Save up. Scoring some cheap gaming muscle usually means a lot in performance.
3) Video memory, while usually it means a whole lot, sometimes it means absolutely nothing. NOTHING. PCI-E cards like the x300 ATI RADEON boast high memory (128mb) but share this with your current main memory. (RAM) This means you get a big chunk of 128mb of your ram taken out.
