of the pro hop?

Examples, Zach Randolph and Dwight Howard do the pro hop, I'd like them to do more power moves.

Pro Hop is more of a guard move

Drop Step is more of a powerful post move

If you want a player thats fast to do a drop step, you can only do it when you're not moving. Or with your back facing the basket...

i think the question is how to change the pro hop? if you compare kevin garnett with tim duncan. tim will always do "drop step" while KG will do the hop. tim will do that even if he's moving towards the basket.. and that's a very powerful move compared with KG's coz the defender can get stunned making you do an easy dunk especially in the paint. in KG's case, he will oftentimes fumble the ball everytime he collides with a defender. All guards do the pro hop while i think all centers do the "drop step". It's in the power forwards that these moves are mixed. elton brand, amare, KG, Pau Gasol, R. Horry etc. have the hop thing while duncan, haslem, j o'neal etc do the drop step thingy.

Anybody knows how to change this?

It has to do with the dribble and quickness ratings.

And I'm going to see them in Toronto!

A Dribble rating above 50 will allow a player to pro hop. Set a player's rating lower than that and he'll just drop step.

i see. so there's also a positive side with low dribbling skills. tnx andrew. might as well sacrifice dribbling skills for a PF/C for the next draft in my dynasty. :)

the drop step is very much effective. there is also a chance that your player will fumble the ball but not as much as the pro hop in which when executed you often get stunned and lose the ball when bumping your guard.

in order to effectively use the drop step. move your center/powerforward near the paint, and while moving toward the basket push the pro hop button together with the directional button (directed at your defender which is oftentimes directed to the basket), your player will do the dropstep which can stun the defender when they collide.. and you will be very near the bottom of the basket giving you an opportunity for an easy dunk.

note:
even if your defender doesn't get stunned but you are under the no charge area you can easily do an almost unblockable dunk/layup but if your opponent doesn't get stunned AND you are outside the no charge area, then don't dunk for your opponent has a high probability to block or alter your shot. i sometimes pass the ball outside or make a quick release jump shot. one way of defending against the drop step is to use an outside stopper and superstar steal the ball while he's doing the drop step.

I only use the drop step. Sometimes it gets easy points, or good opportunities (sp?). The pro-hop is way too risky to use, because the CPU will just put a player near my player and I'll get the offensive foul :x

I usually lose or get stripped of the ball when that happens. :x
