Any done the dunk yet where they completly jump over player?

Postby dsigns on Wed Dec 07, 2005 10:10 am

I did this a few days ago for the first time and I haven't been able to do it again. I came baseline with Jason Richardson and jumped for a dunk holding L1 and I believe press the right dunk button. The defender ducked and covered his head and I went completely over him like Vince in the Olympics. Best in game dunk.

I did this the first time I played NBA Live 06, no jokes. I was testing the highflyer out and I did it. I did it with D. Wade

Nice, crazy it took me this long to do it, I've had the game since the day it came out. Just curious if it's a rare dunk or maybe just rare for me.

Its one of the dunks for a high-flyer, Its not that rare for me, but I usually don't do that dunk. I go for the actual contact dunks, like a poster, now thats a dunk...

so has anyone else found how to do it, like is there a certain combo for the highflyers (ie. L1 with circle or x or square or whatever)? i havent been able to do it, the only posterizing dunks ive been able to do is the one thats one handed and the guy you posterize falls down hard because you leaned into him, the two handed one where you lean into the guy and he falls slowly, the windmill posterize one, and the reverse posterize.

I don't think it's a high flyer dunk. I saw it once with Hakim Warrick and to my knowledge he hadn't yet developed into a high flyer. He just jumped clean over the cat. I've actually got the pictures saved I just don't know how to show them in this forum. Thats the only one time I've ever seen it though.

I haven't seen wade do it as much as someone like L. James. That is if you put him as a high flyer.

Just go baseline Right Side driven with someone infront you Pressing the Left Analog toward basket of course Hold L "the superstar trigger" and Tap Y "don't hold" just Tap it.

Isn't that V. Carters Signature dunk? I dunno. I just know King James does it alot if you put him as HighFly.

You can get diffrent dunks by jumping from diffrent angles and sides. Also you get a diffrent dunk by Tapping A, B X, or Y and 4 more choices by holding the 4 down while holding the Superstar Trigger of course.

Superstar + Top of the lane + Tapping "not holding" Y will do a Dribble Alley Oop where you slam it down on the floor and dunk it after its up in the air.

Superstar + Top of the lane + Tapping "not holding" X&Y Exactly at the same time will do an alley oop also but he will toss it up under his other arm and finish with a slam.

For those who dont have an XBoX Y is Rebound or block.

Hope this helps! Lol

dont think thats the highflyer dunk hes talking about, thats the one where you lean in on someone and he falls down hard. hes talking about the one you saw from the raymond felton rookie vid, where they were showing off 3 different rookies (felton, deron williams, and bogut) on one of the vids after the draft. in the vid, i think felton literally jumps over dan dickau or something. if that isnt it (the one in the vid), than its what everyone else has said in this forum, the dunk where the guy you posterize ducks and you jump right over him.

i have wade now on my fantasy drafted Suns dynasty. But I'mma trade him. Maybe I'll try with JR Smith or something.

I've been trying to do this dunk since live came out. Can someone make a video of it? I want to see it in action.

I do it often enough. To do it hold down the freestyle boton and tap the regular dunk boton and if someone is there coming to contest you the player should dunk over them.

trecenters...

Just go baseline Right Side driven with someone infront you Pressing the Left Analog toward basket of course Hold L "the superstar trigger" and Tap Y "don't hold" just Tap it.

Tap Y meaning the hop step button?
or really you mean the X button which is the dunk button?

Cause I wanna be able to do the dunk=)

i haven't done the move yet but the CPU did it to ME! lol. he got away with it coz i was pressing the take charge button when the highflier completely jumped over me. so just a guess, maybe there's a higher chance of doing it if the defender is taking charge. :?:
