Xbox - Controller problems

Postby Malfa on Fri Sep 30, 2005 12:45 pm

Ok, so everyday after school I can't wait to come home to play NBA Live. So today..I come home and start it up. But for some reason (never happened before) the controller randomely stops working. In the middle of a game it says controller is disconnected. Plus in menus it jsut stops...

It happens about every 5 minutes and is pissing me the fuck off.

I blown on all the plug in parts on the xbox and on the controller. I've also used different controller ports and different controllers. Wtf!?!??!

the problem may b the controller ports on system system. it happened to me once on PS2. everything worked except for vibration. yes i turned that feature on for every game i played but yet it wont vibrate even though the everything else works. the controllers vibrated on a friends PS2 though. so i traded the system and added some cash for a new 1. this was some 2 yrs ago.

It happens in regular menu. Has nothing to do with vibration. If you're saying to get a new system then I don't have the money. I'll just sell it and NBA Live 2006 for like..ionno however much I can get for it.

1: Have you tried it with other games? If it does the same thing with the other games you should send your Xbox back to Microsoft to be fixed, assuming it's under warranty.

If it doesn't do the same with other games, take NBA Live back to where you bought it and make them try it out. At least if it does the same on theirs they'll exchange it, or if it doesn't do the same on theirs I guess once again send your Xbox in to be fixed.

Ok, I'll try the other game thing after school tomorrow.

Also, I bought it from Target about a year ago and a half ago.

Ok, it happens the same with all of my games. But! If I hold the controller above my head there's no problem and it works perfectly. WHAT THE FUCK

Rofl  I've had problems like that with other electronics, it's probably a problem with the controller port because when you move the controller around the connection inside the port is altered ever so slightly to make it work :? Don't know why, but that's what I've found.

How did I fix it ... oh boy ... um, I had the problem with my mp3 player, but it's broken now so I'm getting a new one. To fix your problem, you need to fix the controller port, I think Jae and Toolmac are right, you need to call/email Tech Support, probably replace the part or the whole thing. Sorry :(

No fuck that. I think I just need to elevate it. Becuase when I put the controller over my head it's fine.

Ok, so if I let the cord touch the ground or if its sort of hanging down then ti doesn't work. So I put a shoe box by the ports so it would elevate. Then as it's going up it goes on my table..then to me. So It's basically slowly going up the whole time. Now it work fine.
