question about playmaker...

Postby gnohgnek on Fri Jul 29, 2005 3:00 am

now most of us know that playmakers could do some passes..., but will the ball goes to the player we wanted to pass...?

most of the time when i pass the ball, i use the 'direct-pass', to make sure the ball goes to the right player, but now with freestyle superstar, i had been thinking...

think about this, we press the left trigger button, then it was like a menu pop-up on the top left of the screen showing buttons that we could press to do those passes ( as we had seen on the gameplay ). Let's say i press one of those and the ball pass... right??? and the ball goes to...which way??? or the direction i'm holding??? if there are two players in the same direction, that is where the ball could be going to the wrong player.

i don't think we could combine 'direct-pass' and the freestyle, that would be too many buttons to press...

well, what's the point of this playmaker passes if we can't get the ball to the right player...? that would be annoying. seriously.

fell free to correct me if i'm wrong.

I hope you can incorporate direct passing with the playmaker, since that's what I usually do. I hardly ever use the normal pass (unless it's very obvious who the ball will go to.

I was under the impression there'd be some control over the Playmaker Freestyle passes, though overuse of the same moves would likely result in turnovers given there's supposed to be a reward/risk factor.

indeed Andrew...
i believe some of you guys had this before : in Live 2005 the alley-oop passes sometimes didn't go to the player you wanted and caused you a turnover... or a missed dunk. hey, this might happens to the freestyle playmaker passes too.

If the direct pass still in the game, i'd choose it over freestyle passing. Something in me doesnt feel ryt with these freestyle superstar etc.

As far as alley-oops are concerned, I'd like them to be controlled with direct passing. They shouldn't all be successful, but at least you'd be attempting one with the right player.

I hope there's a safe pass option because many times ive had the ball in the post and everyone hanging on the perimiter and is covered by their man and I throw a chest pass at them and the bull is turned over, I hope there's a pass that recipent catches in the back court.
