Watchman

Postby oxm74 on Sun Jul 26, 2009 4:31 pm

I just finished watching this movie and I havve to tell you that theqe's 2 1/2 hours of my life I will never get back. I understood the plot just fine and some of the characters were great as well as the music but all in all is was like watching paint dry. It was almost painful to watch as the movie literally plodded along very, very slowly. Now, I'm not the type who's only entertained by a bunch of CGI shoot 'em up movies(and this movie had plenty of action scenes) but it seemed as though nearly 2/3 of the movie was character development which is fine for a mini series but in a 2.5 hour movie, not so much. And there was plwnty that went unexplained(unless I missed something) like how did Nixon swing 5 terms? And the sex scenes were completely unnecessary. Anyhoo, it's just one man's opinion but after all the hype I thought this movie could have beeng better. 2l0iwt

This is kinda off topic, but to the other mods; don't delete/move this thread. Having all form of movie talk condensed into one mass thread is stupid and doesn't help with activity, I encourage this kinda thing.

Anyway I haven't seen it, my brother marks out for it like a complete nerd though. He's actually going to pay me $10 to watch it when he buys it, that is how much he loves this stuff. I don't get it.

I haven't seen it either, I've got a couple of friends who loved it and a couple of others who thought it was pretty "meh". I've pretty much gone off action movies myself, though I did really enjoy The Dark Knight. For the good things I've heard, I haven't as yet been swayed to check out Watchmen on DVD.

You'll probably only like it if you enjoyed the comics like me. They pretty much just put every frame from the comics on film. It's a lot to pick up in just one sitting.

I guess that disqualifies me then, I've never really been into comics. I've got a certain appreciation of them, I certainly don't look down on them or anyone who reads them, I've got a certain awareness of them and I've enjoyed comic book movies before but if this is one that's really for the diehard fans, I'll take it as read that it's not one for me.

LOL

It's a fucking bot. A bot starting a potentially good discussion. Oh, I'm serious, it is a bot.

It's sad when a bot is a better poster than 80% of the guys here

Easily the most intelligent one we've had with a bot.
