Freestyle Problem on a sidewinder

First : this site is awesome !!!!!!!!!!! Thanks to all of you.

I have a problem with my sidewinder (no analogic stick)
Freestyle control can only be made when I have the ball but not moving.
When I move, run, walk or just stand dribbling, "jab step + Directionnal pad" seems inactive. (player just runs...)
Does anybody knows how to 'freestyle' whithout the analogic stick ?
Please answer me if you know.
