Just wondering about the speed and fast breaks

Thu Nov 21, 2002 11:04 pm

With those that have the game, is the fast break and speed problem with all teams or just the fast teams. Example does Utah run a lot of fast breaks or do they slow the tempo like in real life, because with the demo the Nets run the ball quickly but they also do that in real life.

Just wondering with slower teams like the Spurs, Utah, and such.

to my experience, it depends on the team you play against. not only the fastbreaks, but also the 3 points shoots. You can see new jersey running a lot, while miami or phila playing slower, dallas strying 3 pointers with their shooters. I had the lakers shooting so much from 3 pt as they got shaq out for fouls troubles, while they were giving the ball in post with him on field. I think this is one of the most realistic features in live 2003, the various teams play different basket due to their player or the situation of the game.

All the team's speed are fast, it also depends on how you play it, if you make quick shot, and so will the CPU, if you take your time, find the open man, than the CPU would be slower

i get scared to shoot

everytime i come down the floor, i get scared to shoot a 3 because i have to make sure i book it to the other end so they dont score a fast break bucket (if i miss my 3 pt attempt). i give up like 20+ pts/game because if i shoot a 3 and miss, the other team throws a touchdown pass to one of their guards. if that was fixed a little, then i think the game would be great. otherwise i am getting torched by 2 guys everytime. i was the pacers and played the cavs. miles and davis had 40 each and there overall score was only 90 pts or so. pretty crazy. everything else seems fine, well shooting is pretty easy, i tried to edit the players file, it worked for one game, but then it seemed to reset itself, but i dunno.... still a great game, i just have to be SG and a Defensive Back at the same time...

maybe it could help to turn off "crash boards" to avoid the cpu breakfasts. I noticed with crash boards on the playmaker ALWAYS go for the offensive rebound, so the cpu has easily way to fastbreak over. And in the end, you won't get many offensive rebounds with crashboards on, so you can turn it off and avoid cpu fastbreak

ok will do

it's not the speed of the game that bothers me the most, it's more the accuracy of the players...some teams and players just can't miss, shooting around 65% no matter what you do...of course with more time playing the game the defense will be better, but I think the shooting % will still be unrealisticly high...what do you think about this?

I'm playing with the Pistons and in 4 games (all-star, 8 mins, simulation) Buillups is scoring 22 per game, while shooting 9-11, 8-11, 9-13... :) that's good since I'm with the Pistons, but hey?!?! Also Cliff Robinson can't miss etc...

The key is to play defense. In the real NBA teams will burn you if you don't get back and play someD!.

My problem is I find it hard to get offensive rebounds.

yeah, I also find that it is quite difficult to get offensive rebound. Now I try to switch to the PF or C immediately after the ball is shot from the shooter and try to get the off rebound, it seems working fine.

I can get 10-15 off rebound per game now but I could only have less than 5 before. Since it is normal for someone to keep the eyes on the ball after shooting, but actually you should keep yourself busy to do something after shooting but not just to watch the game.

Hope this helps!
