A problem with editing player.dbf

Thu Nov 21, 2002 6:31 pm

I have been making new player.dbf's by editing the original one with DBF Viewer. I'm happy with the latest one that I made and it plays well in game. ButI have a problem with the overall player rating. In the DBF Viewer, after I change fgbase, 3ptbase, etc.., the overall rating of each player changes accordingly. But when I go into game the overall rating remains the same as the original, Shaq is still 96 instead of what he should be with the new ratings. Funny thing is when I go to the ingame editor and edit Shaq and just click done without changing a thing, Shaq's overall rating goes down to normal. It's like going into the the editor forces the game to recognize a player's new overall rating. Does anyone know how I can get the game to display the new overall rating without editing everyone?

Another thing, how come most ratings displayed in the game are differnt from those that I added in the DBF viewer. For example, I edited B. Wallace and Yao Ming so that Wallace has 73 BLK and Yao has 55 BLK. But in the game, they both have 75 BLK, along with a bunch of other players who should have a lower BLK.
