realistic stats at 12 min quarters

Thu Nov 21, 2002 4:10 pm

I think I just the formula right this time.

I'm playing my custom team against the Suns and the game ended with me losing 96-93. The Sun shot 92 shots converting only 37 of them at 40.2%, 5 of 17 from 3 pt range.

The only problem was they had too much steals, which I believe is partly my fault (careless passing, etc). Blocking was also on the high side, but acceptable. I had 6 to their 13 blocks.

What I did was change the following:

FG x 0.8
3Pt x 0.9
Insidesc x 0.8
Primacy x 0.8
Steal x 0.7
Blocking x 0.7
Speed x 0.85
Jump x 0.8

It's important that you lower the Primacy and Insidesc. Lowering the Primacy will somehow slow down the CPU's offense (they won't be looking to shot all the time). Lowering the Insidesc will allow the CPU to miss some shots in the paint, which is where they get most of their points.

Hope this helps the roster patchers.

Hey,

very good work. The roster patch is really important. I play against the
spurs and they score 67 % and 51 % from 3pt line

I just tried these edits and I'll say that this was the best game I've played in the demo. (Granted I've tried no other edits) but almost everything was realistic how I liked it.

Mutombo blocked a shot and it only went a couple of feet. Not into the stands. Whether that just luck or not who knows.

I'm going to lower steals maybe a little more and lower quickness just a little. Crossovers are too fast.

This game is real fun and now I'm getting realistic stats.

Hey Jon, can you make another toolkit? Or tell us how to work the old one? Also, are you gonna make your rosters aviable for everyone?

Fri Nov 22, 2002 3:22 am

You can use the old nba live 2001 toolkit. What you have to do is use megamodified to make this set up. Anyway, i just tried it and it is working fine.

Can anyone send me this roster patch?
I have nba 2001 toolkit but it requires acces 2000 and another.
Thank you all and good job to make this game more realistic.

The block is still damn high for me. I had 15 blockes and play only 7 mins per quarter.

Fri Nov 22, 2002 9:35 am

thedrizzle, I'm releasing the new toolkit next week.

Stonecold, I noticed some players do get unrealistic blocks. ie Stojakovic (spelling?) burned me with 8 blocks, more than half of them on my starting SF (a created 6'9" guy with good hops). I haven't got a solution to this yet though.

Since I can't use the ToolKit, cause I don't have MS Access, what other program can I use to multiply the numbers in the Databases. I have DBF Viewer PRO, but I don't see how I can multiply the #'s. Any help would be appreciated. I need to try my own settings, since I'm not finding much luck with others.

I've use jonathanAu's nba live 2001 toolkits and the mega modifier works fine with nba live 2003.(however, even i lowered the shotblocking ability of all players to the lowest, there's still too much shotblocks)

I had DBF Viewer PRO but it was only the 30 day trial. I am using CDBF-DBF Viewer&Editor. This can globally edit ratings very easily.

With DBF Viewer PRO, go to this link.

http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/~nbalive/ph ... +dbf+files

It has the info there.

Yeah but I want to multiply #'s not just add and subtract. It's much easier that way, multiplying by a percent, so you get no negatives, and it keeps a balance between players.

Doing a *x instead of a +/-x in the field area multiplies the original value for DBF Viewer Pro.:)

Fri Nov 22, 2002 12:36 pm

I do * 0.5 -- and it says invalid expression...

Fri Nov 22, 2002 12:45 pm

:x very confusing, keep getting error updating record #65

That's how it's done and I have no problems at all.

Your not leaving spaces in the expression are you. If your editing the quickness rating, it should be QUICK*0.8.

Thanks for the heads up Donkey. Works now :)
