Rookies and tweaking

Postby Leander on Wed Nov 20, 2002 10:05 pm

I don't have the game yet (PC version), will get it tomorrow or Friday.

Well as we all know, there has to be a lot of tweaking done, otherwise the FG% are way to high and so on and so forth. So I can download a tweaked roster. But when you play a franchise, rookies are randomly created whose skills are not tweaked.

So the FG-ratings are too high for all players, you can tweak that.
But the rookies' ratings are based on the same formula as the default players were, so the rookies' FG will be too high as well. But unfortunatley, there is no way to download the tweaked rookies, as they are randomly created, all of us have different rookies, different names, skills and so on...so there can't be a tweaked something that I could download.

So as it seems, the only way to avoid that the rookies are better than the other players (as the rookies are not tweaked, but the the players at the start of a franchise are) is to tweak them yourselve???

Is a lot of work, to find out who the rookies are and then edit all of them...at each start of a new saison.

Or is there some sort of file I can edit that determines how good rookies can be, how high their ratings can be?

If the FG of all players are decreased, no one has over 90 but then some rookies again have, there MUST be some tweaking, otherwise the rookies will be too good and would have an advantage over the other players as they are not tweaked.

I think Live2003 will create the rookies taking care of the average ratings of the already present players. So, a "tweaked" roster will generate automatic "tweaked" rookies.

I read something in an interview with Tim.

Do you mean this one?

"We have also tuned the Rookie generation process so new Rookies enter the League with Ratings that are completely in sync with the rest of the players."

I hope the rookies are created after the actual tweaked roster...

rooks

when tim said that this year's rookies will be 'in tune' with the rest of the league i think he meant by being as good as some of the original players

he meant no more rooks rated 62

i really doubt that live will check what kind of ratings the players are then generate rooks accordingly
