Have any of you all become creative when doing a franchise?
My 5 year franchise just corrupted (booo!) but this is how I started it:
-Made it a custom league with just 16 teams, 4 in each div
-Created about 35 rookies who were all between 78-92 in ratings, including Lebron and Carmello, and I used the toolkit to make all of their potentials high
-Used the fantasy draft, and I chose the Lakers but I made the Lakers get 16th in the order of the draft
-Made it a short season, so it was only 16 games each year
I took Lebron as my first pick, I made him a 92. We were swept in the playoffs the first year, won the next two years, lost a year, and won the last.
It was fun building up. I made many trades the first few years to get better players, and I got many rookies who got better and better...My first year my team was ranked 15 by ratings, but by year three, I was ranked #2.
I noticed that they make you lose some games, such as those you are up 20 the whole game but at the end they hit 8 straight three pointers. Also, I think they have some sort of revenge mode on there...in my third year I beat Boston at the buzzer in the last game of the finals, but the next year they swept me.
I noticed a LOT of flaws in the game. It is still one of my favorites of all time but it has so many flaws it makes me wonder. One of them is that Point guards usually alllways run things in the game...half the time, the other teams PG would score the most points, and assists. Also, dominate players with high ratings don't always do that much when I play against em. Kobe got drafted to Sacramento, but when we played them, he usually never was the standout player.
