My first impressions

Hey folks,

so today was the day the nba day....

But i must say. I´am disappointed.

Ok there is some good things:

- good grafics
- smooth animations
- good sound

the bad stuff

-menus are terrible, looks like console
-handling of the menus
-trading screen
-gameplay

What can we do:

-better face patches
-complete new roster with new ratings for 90 % of the players

I ask me what the hell had ea do all the time. They had about
more than a year for a new nba version, and the only good
inovated stuff is the freestyle control.

The rest is routine. The game looks like a console game.
Tis is no the nba verion of the old days.

Yeah, I think they ported the console game to the PC, not the other way around. EA should have made a separate game for the PC version, but that is impossible. Multi-platform games are always like this; the game is released on the platform catering to the most players, then just port the game to other platforms with no regard for optimization or gameplay tweaks.

there is potential though, and that's what I've been saying.
Has there ever been an NBA live game that was great out of the box? IMHO--NO. This is no different, give it some time boys--i have a feeling this game will come around. In the meantime, look at Halle's breastisis :P

c'mon EA Graph, we need you now!

Hey,

after a long night...of playing nba my "next turn" of impressions .

Menus:
no better also the "sound-blob" erverytime if you navigate through the menus. :x
to checkered, no clear look. The menus in nba01 wasn´t a hit but much better than
nba 03
The worst menu screen is the trading screen. Folks i have a 19 monitor and the game rund in 1024x768 but is looks like 320x160 :?

At the menus you can see really good the effect of the console.programming , because for console you must navigate with the pad.

There some similar things with the menus but what happends :?

Grafiics and animations:
Thats good, the animations looks really smooth, also the lay up etc. The grafics
good work, if turn all of max.

But...ea take now the jersey with the hole pattern. Look at the jersey patches of nba 2001 . This is old stuff
Also the faces. Look really good, but i thing our patches would make better faces with the grafics tool from ea. There are more talented. The best example is Kidd
He has a piercing glance like Hanibal Lector :P

Improvement:
The changea player with all this stuff, Tatoos etc ! I wish that there more different style
muscles . There are only good shape or looks like Schwarzeneggger .

Gameplay:
Yes, with all the options of the freestyle control it is the first time to play real move like post up game etc. It is harder but better !
I think by the balance of gameplay we have the best effect of the game.

Which improvmet is important for a new roster

- less stealing
- lower speed
- lower fg %
-lower 3pt fg%
- changing player ratings overall

The old 80+ player are now the 90+ the old 70+ player are now the 80+
etc

Sound:
if you like rap.....its ok if not uhhhhhh

OMG I like your avatar CoCoBee.
Maybe I should get one similar to those...hehe
I agree patched Live 2K3 will be very good.
I hope EA doesn't release 2K4, so people can patch 2K3 real good in the meantime and get their money's worth.
I am real bummed by the lack of custom team though. I just have to create a team from Vancouver
Anyways I hope my machine can run the game good enough. I have GF2 Ti 64 MB and 1600XP.
