v1.09 (minor update) released...

Sat Jul 12, 2003 5:35 pm

I've released version 1.09 of the roster update, as always you can download it here.

v1.09 adds final 2002/2003 season rosters and updates some rookie ratings and jersey numbers. I have been accepting suggestions posted in the v1.08 thread, but I have exercised my right to settle for my own changes for some players.

Version 1.10 will be out after July 16th when player movement begins. Even though we know that the Glove and the Mailman are heading to LA and Zo is likely going to become a Net, nothing is official yet so I haven't made any transactions except releasing Anthony Peeler and Jamal Sampson.

Andrew,

Is it possible for you to tweak one of the 2002-2003 rosters, preferably the final rosters?

Sun Jul 13, 2003 4:10 pm

I guess it wouldn't be a problem. Depending on whether everyone still wants me to include opening night rosters, I could just replace that roster with a tweaked version of the final 2002/2003 rosters.

Which folder do i unzip the files to? I have read the readme and i don't have either of those folders.

The patch must be unzipped to the folder containing your saves folder.

When tweaking the rosters with DB Commander, where do you type *.80 etc.... if I want to tweak field goal, three pt, block etc..?

Thanks.

I use the Toolkit's Mega Modifier to globally tweak player ratings.

How do you get the tool kit to work? I downloaded the 2003 toolkit for access 2000 and it tells me i have to download some other program. When i go to the website to download the other program, and install it, the installation halts because it says I don't have some other program.

Could you please change Chris Kaman's skin tone to 0 in your next update mate? :)

Sure thing. :)

I use the NBA Live 2001 Toolkit as it is compatible with the NBA Live 2003 DBF files (it simply doesn't recognise the new fields, so you can't edit those).

when can i expect 1.10?

Sat Jul 19, 2003 12:14 pm

Probably next week sometime. I'd like to include as many transactions as possible with each update as well as making corrections.

Mon Jul 21, 2003 6:45 pm

I'm pushing the release back to the end of the week at the earliest. I'm currently updating the Dstats, and I'd also like to go through all the players again fixing up ratings.

Mon Jul 21, 2003 8:07 pm

Don't we all luv andrew  ! (cuz honestly, i can't motivate myself to make those adjustments, but maybe that just says something bout me  )

Mon Jul 21, 2003 8:49 pm

It's much more convenient if I do it though, since you won't lose the changes when you install the new version of the roster update. So it's worth the slight delay.

Thu Jul 24, 2003 4:03 pm

andrew i tip my hat to you again. with your latest release i am getting consistent scores in the 130's on 9 min.

Thu Jul 24, 2003 5:09 pm

In the 130s? That's still higher than it should be. Still, heavily tweaking the ratings is not an ideal solution for gameplay problems - there are some elements that just cannot be fixed.

However, there are plenty of minor corrections left to be made for individual players. I might not be able to release the rosters this weekend after all, but only because I've been busy with work and am also making some major corrections (such as updating DSTATS).

Fri Jul 25, 2003 2:31 am

tweaked rosters on all-star level arent SO bad after all. just a few suggestions...

ok, mark jackson is way over-rated or just hits every shot in real life. hes ancient... speed up gadzuric.... also, gilbert arenas is rated less than larry hughes. makes no sense... just some suggestions.

great work as always. cant wait for the new ones when you get the time.

Sat Jul 26, 2003 10:54 am

Hey Andrew!

I just got one suggestion (heaps of ppl might object) with the 2003-04 Lakers' players' ratings....

I think that Kobe should be rated 96, Shaq; 90, Malone; 85, Payton;86.
Devean George should be 80, Fisher 78, Rick Fox 81, Rush 75, Madsen 76, Pargo 72, Medvedenko 70, Walton 70 and Cook 71.

Sat Jul 26, 2003 12:38 pm

I will address those issues. I can't promise that I'll make the exact changes that you want as I will use my own judgment when assigning some ratings. But I'll look at all players that have been mentioned.

Sun Jul 27, 2003 3:23 pm

Hey Andrew... is there an ETA on the v1.10 roster update?

Sun Jul 27, 2003 6:15 pm

Sorry, no. As I said on the main page I've delayed it as I'm updating Dstats and making other corrections. I've also been pretty busy with work lately, so I can't really set a specific date, except to say I'll release v1.10 as soon as I possibly can.

Sat Aug 02, 2003 1:24 pm

hi, andrew. l think earl boykin is slow when comparing to other small size players. Can you adjust it..

Sat Aug 02, 2003 1:35 pm

I'll look into that.

Sun Aug 03, 2003 3:15 pm

hey Andrew when can we except the next roster update with all the transaction this offseason? and plz don't forget to add Carl English the Canadian into the Pacers cuz he signed with them...
