New Roster!!RELEASEING

Postby Jimmy on Mon Jul 07, 2003 12:35 pm

I am making a roster update that merge the advantages of NLSC's (Tweaked Version)and Z's(Single Mode),ALSO MY OWN TWEAK ,but solve some problem that these 2 GREAT rosters had. COZ untweaked version is too fast in gameplay, score too high ,when using 12min almost get 200 marks!!?>>
u can find really realistic in gameplay in this roster!

1. e.g. ,the speed of Ginobili(White KOBE) too slow, rating of dunking and jumping too low, cannot shoot 3 pt.
2. Jordan's jumping shooting rating too high or too low
3. Speedy Claxton not a speedy??
4. Fixed players shows a "slow motion" when stealing, e.g.,E.Slow , but with no or little change in their quickness only!
5. Added the rookies in draft 2003
*6. Added Dream Team 1-6 with correct rating and positions!
7. Fixed Yao Ming ,Wang ZhiZhi have a accurate 3 pt rating.(They're big man with outside shot in fact!)
8. Fixed the problem when using analog stick for fast crossover, some players will not lose their ball.(e.g.E.Slow)(with accurate Handling,Dribbling, speed, quickness)
9. Accurate stealing and blocking rating.
10. Accurate appearance(pls DL the face patch of the missing players in NLSC forum)
11. C.Barkley in 90's.
12.Olaju may have dream step (0.05s pressing JAB+up arrow
->JAB+down arrow)(with a suitable quickness ,developing)
13.Have correct rating in Dallas (e.g.3pt of some players,e.g.Van Exel)
14.Reduced some rating from some players.(R.Davis)
15. A great problem you find in that 2 GREAT roster was that although the PRIMACY of some leader players of some teams were the highest, Computer will not use them to score at all. This problem fixed in real game play.(e.g.,C.Webber,Dirk,Kobe,etc.)
16.Much more...

UPDATED TILL 27AUG

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Any comments?or request?I need comments b4 i release it,it's now 95%
finished. ANY TESTER?????

Sounds good, but nearly all of those problems do not exist in the untweaked version of the NLSC rosters, which is the version I recommend everyone uses (if they are using the NLSC roster, obviously). Best of luck with it though. (Y)

so yao ming went 1-2 on three-pointers this year... but he has a raised 3 point rating? all the while ricky davis' stats are lowered after have like 20+ points, a numerous times came close to a triple double on a horrendous team (kobe bryant was doing the same thing early in the year when shaq was gone but everyone called it amazing).

lame

I agree with some of the problems, but the big problem (which can be solved easy) is that Andrew never changes the ratings of the players!
E G Fisher has 90 or something in fieldgoal and Kobe only has like 87.
Kobe was in second place in ppg goddamned!

Do as I did in my great roster, I printed out the essential (e.g points per 48min)statictics and then change the rating after that to get the right ratings.

Actually, I changed a lot of ratings in v1.08 and a few more in v1.09. I even invite suggestions of new ratings in the NLSC Roster Patch Issues forum.

I am also co-operate with Zaxis and Mark,in HK.
Yes, I am current busying in change the rating...!
70% of the player's rating hv changed to more realistic
As you said, i will make everyteam a real score leader.!
like LA hv kobe(but not fisher),76ers hv no.3iverson(but not no.8mckie!!!!)

Wt i test is 8 min each quarter..!
e.g.Kobe in the 1st Quarter hv a few score..but when in 3rd and expecially 4th Quarter...He will be often on fire...i will make it as real as possible..

I've already released version 1.09, but I'm happy to change ratings in version 1.10.

the rating all depend if u want to rate the player by his potential or by what he is actualy doing on the court. If u want to rate a player to have simular results as in his real games is one thing on what he could do is another.
Yao can shoot 3s so can Wang where or not u choose to use them with Andrews roster is up to u.

Yo, in my roster like I said before the ratings is very specific. I mean I have literal based my ratings on the 02-03 regular season statistics.
So if you want I can make the player ratings for you. We can test, and if dont like, dont use it. Just a suggestion

I appreciate the offer, but I prefer not to use stats-to-ratings formulas.

Ratings based on stats dont always work, i mean look at for example piatkowski(just the first one to come into my mind), he's one of the purest shooters in the nba so he should have a very high fg-rating, though he doesnt score 20ppg, this is more of a problem with the primacy rating and stuff, just becuz a player scores 20 ppg he isnt the best shooter on his team, van horn is supposed to shoot better than iverson too(at least behind the three i think). And if a bench player who is a great rebounder only gets 2-3rpg cuz he doesnt play a whole game(where he would grab at least 8 rpg)doesnt mean he should have low defensive rating and stuff, it's just not right and i like the fact andrew sticks with that very much :) . And ow yeah andrew, if u change the fisher-bryant ratings, pls dont change bryant's rating, they are what they should be, (if u will)just lower fisher fg and 3pt rating so he wouldn't kill everyone with his threes, tnx for that.

ok, I understand. But does it no exist a shooting range rating, like in 01?
And how the hell do you figure it out that Kobe just should have 87 in fg?!

Experience with roster patches. After a while you get to know what kind of ratings a good shooter/high scoring/great defensive player should have. There's nothing wrong with stats-to-ratings formulas, but there are some times when you must use some discretion. I've always found it better to assign ratings based on the player's abilities rather than statistics.

Shooting range is no longer an independent rating as it was in previous NBA Lives - instead, it's based on the field goal rating.

Why did they removed that rating, it was real useful.
E.G: AI #3 is not a range shooter but he still get 30points by just running in and throw it up for a layup and get fould

Most be the damn console koncentration.
