Some of the older NBA Live games and other EAsports games did have patches. NBA Live has not been patched for a while.

probably the reason why NBA Live 2003 is patchable by ordinary users. They probably thought that by making the ratings customizable to users, they wouldn't have to worry about doing it themselves, since we (the users) know precisely what we want and how to do it.
