[NLP] Important news about my patches [NLP]

Postby Rune on Thu Jul 03, 2003 10:51 pm

To make things easier for myself and those who are downloading my patches, I have decided to quit making single
zip-files for each player. Instead I will make zip-files for each team. Some teams only have one player in the zip-file
right now, but I will add more in the future. The new team zip-files have some new features:

* Updated acc.fsh files to make it easier to add/remove bands
* A more detailed readme
* Easier installation

Please read the read me file that comes with the patches, it contains everything you need to know to make the patches
work correctly.

If you have any comments on the new zip-file system please let me know, either by mail or you can vote in the poll.

Here are my newest patches:

Antoine Rigaudeau (Mavs)
Rodney White (Nuggets)
Vincent Yarbrough (Nuggets)
James Posey (Rockets)
Yao Ming (Rockets)
LaPhonso Ellis (Heat)
Sean Lampley (Heat)
Travis Best (Heat)
Rodney Rogers (Nets)
Monty Williams (76ers)
Danny Ferry (Spurs)
Kevin Willis (Spurs)
Andrei Kirilenko (Jazz)

You can get them all @ http://www.nlpatches.cjb.net/

I might start making rookies soon too...

edit: I removed the link to the Bandsize update, because it seems like there is somekinda bug in it. I will post a new link as soon as I have fixed it.

I'd prefer to download them as seperate player updates. :)

Because if there's cyberface i prefer over yours then it would overwrite it. (N)

That wouldn't be a problem, because there aren't any cyberfaces that are better than mine  Just kidding.

Anyway, all the links have been fixed now.

but if ever one day you have 5 patchs for one team, and you create another patch for someone on this team, that means people will need to download the big zip file with the 5 other players ? your bandwith will explode :!:

I didn't think about that  Well maybe I should make my next patches single downloadable again and then add them to the team zip when I have created all the players that need an update on that team. Like I did on the Pacers complete update.

First of all, I would like to thank you for your excellent patches. I have been downloading your patches for a long time now and I'm a big fan of your work.

With that out of the way, I would like to comment on the new zip file system that you have implemented. The single-team-zip file system is a great idea if it is your first time to download the patches. As for me, i have most of your patches already installed and even though I only need your yao ming patch i have to download the big houston team file. It's very hard for me since I only use a 56k dial-up service which turns out to be just 31k tops.

I think it would be better to return to your single-player-zip files so people like me who already have some of your patches, wouldn't have to download the big single-team-zip file. Maybe you can create single-player-zip files and a big single-team-zip file. Just a suggestion. I know it will be harder on you since you will have to upload more files.

Anyway, just think things through and let's see what happens.

Again, thanks for your patches, more power and keep up the good work. I'm looking forward to download more patches from you.

Hey Rune, have you thought of packing your rookies the way I did? It's about time someone makes those bad-ass 30 player packs again... :D

You could save a lot of space using .ACE compression (plus a self extractor, of course), which is much better than .ZIP for large files, especially of the same type. E-mail me for more details if you want to.

And if you want to update some of the faces, of course you would upload those new ones individually (not re-upload the whole patch for two faces), or you could also make a "v2.0 upgrade" (which, based on the first one, replaced some of your existing faces with the newest versions).

Sorry about that, the previews got a little messed up. I first showed you guys version one and then I made a better version two, so I renamed the version two to version one and version two to version one. A little confused? Anyway, the one on my page are the right one. But just to be sure I updated the preview thread too.

I prefer individual-player downloads. A lot of us here have 56k and it takes a LONG time to download a complete team patch not to mention that if we only want a single player update, we would have to get all of the players that we already have.

And about .ace files, the extension isn't really universal and .zip files are easier to handle. WinZip may not be the best compression tool out there but it's widely used more than others.

Hi, rune. as l install yao face, the expression does not look like what it show on the preview. In your preview, yao have smiling expression, in my game, it have laid back expression.

do anyone know why??

Tim Hardaway

SOCKS - 1 (Medium low)
LWRISTBAND - 0
RKNEEPAD - 25

it saids left wristband's number is zero, but i think that will make the band won't appear in the game.
It's from the REAM ME TEXT file..... :)

Actually... for rookies... it might not be a bad idea to put them all in one file... but as for the team patches... I personally don't like that...

I can't say I'd mind downloading patches like 2003 First/Second Rounders pack or something...

LWRISTBAND - 2

I don't mind the team packs, as I always have a good connection, but I know from when I had 56k that it really is painful to download big patches like that. I prefer them, but....

Nick, if you already have a cyberface you like, delete the one out of the team pack of the same player or when it's in the main dir...then the bat will just skip over it b/c it's not there...
