Question regarding DBF tweaking

Postby Uber on Tue Nov 19, 2002 4:59 pm

Dunno if this has been asked and answered already, I apologize if this is old.

I've been experimenting on my dbf, and placed it in the C:\Documents and Settings\Username\My Documents\NBA Live 2003\Database\Origdb, Currentdb and the other db folder which I forgot. And also I replaced the dbf files in the C:\Program Files\EA Sports\NBA Live 2003\Database you know what I mean.....I tested it out by playing games, then I noticed when I checked out the ratings of the player in 'Edit Player' menu within the game just to check out if the game follows the edited dbf.....to my surprise it didn't match my dbf ratings. It still followed the original ratings and not mine.

Is there anything i missed or didn't do right?

Do a file search and make sure you replace each one. Are you sure you are you saying yest to overwrite the file?

My search gave me 3 players.dbf from the Documents and Settings folder and 1 from the Program Files folder. I'm certain I replaced each one, but I never deleted the old dbf, I just renamed them to players_orig.dbf so I can always restore when I want to.

There was one thing I noticed though. The folder 'Currentdbf' found in the Documents and Settings' line of folders, was empty before I played games, then after about 5 games, I checked it and it's filled up already by different DBFs....strange. To make sure, I replaced an edited players.dbf to it aswell.
