Globally tweaked DBF doesn't make any difference

Postby Uber on Tue Nov 19, 2002 12:20 pm

I don't see why tweaking the players.DBF will make any difference, coz while you are lowering FGs, 3PT, SPD globally thinking you're opponent or CPU will become somehow vulnerable, you are actually doing the same thing to your team. You lower globally therefore your team doesn't get any better, but even worse. If you are keen on seeing balance and improvement, then tweak the players outside your roster or your team. Lower their stats and maintain yours.

i do agree that we arent making our team any better... but IMHO, thats not what i want, i want realism. i dont want my team any better than the other teams.. i just want EVERYONE to slow down and block and dunk a lil less.

Yar must agree, with ChochHolla, the issue is making the game globally more realistic, not easier to win. We control our own teams, therefore our skills will determine our team's performance...I love the fact that I am 0-8 as the Cavs, on Starter, I'm gonna get Lebron if I keep it up.

Isn't Lebron on Life support from getting cracked in the head with a rim? :P LOL, I would be taking it easy if i'm supposed to be entering the draft next year...[/quote]

the thing is with the tweaked players.dbf, with the lowered FGs and all, the fade-away jumpers and the quick pull-ups are almost certain not to go in. The best outside shot is a wide open outside shot, even for superstars. These moves are trademarks of some superstars like MJ, Kobe, K Malone, and they have perfected this move like they were lay-ups. I guess there is no PERFECT tweak that can satisfy all the players of Live 2003. It really depends on how you personally define "realistic'. :D

I'm real glad your tweaked roster made the game better for you. I still have to experiment on mine.

Svenator I doubt Lebron James is in the draft but I wouldn't say he isn't.

If The Names are randomly generated & they have a first name Lebron and the Last Name of James it may be possible to get a Lebron James...Or how about a James Lebron? I am not sure of the full list of names in the game but I am sure there are many many combinations possible...Lebron Iverson?

This game is way to offensive, by lowering the Fg, Dunks, Speed, ect will only make this game more realistic. The scores are too hi, and defense is tough to play. Way too many dunks and blocks too. EA is not going to come to our rescue. Editing the game is the only way….

But I Think I'm a fool this is impossible...Fantasy Names sux..
I wil not play with Peter Bonds and and John Jeter like in High Heat 2K3
