Menu and Text Disappear - help

Can anyone help with this problem? Live2k3 starts just fine and runs smoothly on my 500MHz, 256 MB RAM, Win98SE system. The only problem I am having is with some of the text and menus. For Example, at the league leaders, player stats, managers statement, free agent screens, I cannot see my mouse pointer or any buttons or text. I can occasionally see the picture of the player but no text.

Any ideas? My video card is a Diamone Viper V770 and every other aspect of the game seems great.
