The best and the Worst team to have a franchise with

Postby bballer22 on Wed May 21, 2003 11:44 pm

form what i noticed the best possible team to simulate of to play a franchise with are the Lakers and i think the clips, coz most of the years they get the 1st or the second game. so that means u get all the good players off the FA list,
the worst is Menphis, every year its like the 15th or 16th game, u get high draft pick, but no one good form FA list

Simulating, the Clippers are a good choice. Not only is their first game on the generated schedule one of the earliest games, they're pretty well off as far as cap room goes after the first year. From there, it's just a matter of taking advantage of the CPU and signing free agents for the minimum, then re-signing them long term at a higher price. Needless to say, that team isn't much fun to actually play games with.

As far as playing the games, there's no definite best or worst team, since the overall team rankings mean little when a player's skill is taken into account. The best team to use is one you have fun playing with and suits your style of play - the worst team is the one that doesn't work out for you, and can't be improved through roster moves.

Lakers are good up untill about 2008...once Shaq and Kobe retire...they go ...

weeeeeee.....

plomp. (N)

Well, that's when the computer controls...don't know about human sim.

I think the spurs are up there with the good franchise sides...salary wise and good players wise.

Utah always seem to be in the top 5 lottery every year, so that's another (N) side.

Do you simulate seasons so that you will get a good lottery pick, or do you trade for another team's pick after the draft?

I have noticed too that Lakers are 5-6 seasons good and then when Shaq and Kobe go away...... Usually(thats pisses me off) Duncan is going ta Lakers from the FA and stays there...very unrealistic. Best team to start franchise is Cavs, if you don't change the roster too much, it's a good challenge and interesting!

Well, i wasn't quite clear, but i meant the Kobe and Shaq duet. ;)

Besides, Kobe doesn't stay with lakers the whole 10-15 years. Neither does McGrady.

but does any1 kno how do i make it that the CPU will not change my roster??

The CPU always re-orders your roster if there's a trade or an injury. There's no way to prevent it.

I'm currently playing a Franchise with the Wolves - KG is awesome. He's already racked up two or three quadruple doubles. :D
