Some newbie questions?

Wed May 21, 2003 12:40 am

Hi I was thinking about making some tweaks for the game but I have the following newbie questions...

1) Static versus Relative tweaking...Static tweaking would be something like setting shaq's jump to 70, relative is setting shaq's jump*0.8.

Since i play to play franchise...i think relative would be better right? Coz it allows for easy untweak by jump/0.8. In addition, realitve tweaking since its what ever it is*%, will allow your player's abilities to grow or decline with age...

2) That said...is it possible for a stat to be below 50. Since I plan to just set everyone's jump rating to * 0.8...but I am concerned about the guys with already 50-55 jump rating

3) Is it possible to set a stat to over 100...I plan to *120% for defense awareness to make it so that ppl are less easily pump faked...but GP's DA will then sail over 100.

1. The problem with apply global tweaks such as these is that it usually results in messing up the overall ratings - and the generated rookies will be much better than the tweaked players. However, it's easier to untweak players globally than one by one.

2. Editing the jumping rating will not do much to fix up the blocking problem. In fact, you'll basically create a new problem - too many missed dunks.

3. In my experience, ratings cannot be set over 99 using the Mega Modifier.

I'll warn you now, tweaked rosters really aren't suited for Franchise Mode, and although a lot of people do like to use DK's Roster, Zaxis' roster or the tweaked version of my NLSC roster patch, they really aren't suited for Franchise because of the long term (and short term) problems they cause. But if you feel tweaking is the only way you can enjoy playing the game, best of luck with your tweaking. :)
