MS sidewinder Problem

I have read previous post before and ppl having the same problem with me, the stupid controller shows up for 20 sec and disapper. I just wondering anyone got a solution for it?
it works fine when i play NHL2003.

I got a sidewinder and use it in live 2003 and works great maybe its ya pc
