THE BEST GAMEPLAY EVER GARAUNTEED!!!!!!

Postby kingjames23 on Tue Apr 22, 2003 1:53 pm

first of all, edit only the players on the team you play with and drop the ratings way down
I HAVE MADE SLIGHT CORRECTIONS SINCE I FIRST POSTED THIS

fg, inside scoring, steals and blocks -25 to -30 all players
3pt, ft, all rebounds -20 to 25 all players
jump -15 (-10 for good blockers)
quick, speed, dunk, endurance -10 all players
you may need to bring up the dribble rating (+ 5)because you lose your handle the slower you move doing freestyle

you have to use turbo to keep up with the cpu, which tires your guys quicker, and you have to work to get open shots and to stop the cpu

you can leave high dunk ratings for the flashier dunkers, kobe t-mac-vince but drop em for the power dunkers. like shaq to drop their fg%

jump rating doesnt affect dunking style or ability, but dropping it will decrease your blocks and your rebounds and also give the cpu a better chance to block your shots. ( i know this cuz i made a guy and set his jump rating at 50 and dunks at 99 and he was 6'6 dunking like crazy) but he couldnt get up to block shots

now play a game on rookie mode.
i know it sounds crazy to all you guys with egos who only play on superstar, but this is the only way to keep the cpu's steals down
but thats why i dropped my teams ratings so much so it would be tough

before starting the game select for the cpu and yourself an offensive set each (someone else suggested this, it helps AND THANKS) it keeps the cpu from chucking so many threes and it slows the game down

set the cpu's strategy like so
box out on
crash boards off (keeps them from fast breaking your ass all day)
auto switch defense (or man)

set your strategy
box out off
crash boards off
man to man defense

this helps balance out the rebounding, i got out boarded 3 times outta 10

under defensive matchups put everyone on low pressure. this will keep steals down a little more (i do this for both teams) if the cpu gets too many steals set doubleteams off, if you cant get any steals set your press to medium or high....

i play in arcade mode, cpu controlled shooting, cpu assist on (to keep scores close), maxed fouls, all rules on and im thinking of trying 12 minute quarters, but im averaging 88 ppg at 8 minutes so i may tweak more. you gotta play harder D to keep the cpu's fg% down, but my games have been great

HERES AN EXAMPLE GAME (IT WAS INTENSE)
I PLAYED AS THE LAKERS WITHOUT SHAQ AGAINST THE SPURS
(just like the first game of this season)

i used a triangle offense & set the spurs as a double high post (worked great)

S.A. L.A.L
PTS 91 94
FG 39/74 42/85
FG% .527 .490
3PT 8/19 9/25
3PT% .421 .360
FT 5/5 1/1
REB 35 37
OFF 6 11
DEF 29 26
BLK 1 4
STL 6 8
AST 24 26
TO 13 10
FOUL 7 9

KOBE 43PTS (21/41FG .512%) (1/9 3PT .111%) (1 O REB)( 5 D REB )(2BLK) (0STL) (3 AST) (3 TO) (2 FOULS)

DUNCAN 25PTS (11/14FG .786%) (3/3 FT) (4 OREB) (13 D REB) (1 BLK) (4STL) (2 AST) (4 TO) (1 FOUL)

if you want to play franchise....
DRAFT YOUR ROOKIES FROM THE BOTTOM
pick the worst guys cuz thier ratings are crap to begin with, no need to tweak them.... but they will still be good on your team cuz you are playing in Rookie mode

also for trades in francise mode, i guess just dont play the new guys til the playoffs (this is when you get a chance to tweek during the game) unless anybody has a better idea on this???? i dont think anybody would trade for the tweeked guys though, thats the only flaw i can find.

either that or when you play franchise..... controle all the teams, just play the one you tweaked, then you can edit the guys you traded away in the playoffs

alright, thats my two cents. ya'll can try it out, tell me what you think[/list]

For shooting and what not I think -20 would do fine.

well heres another game's stats, still using the Lakers without Shaq against the Blazers

they had 5 guys in double figures and i had to work really hard to win this
had to get 57 from kobe just to win
sheed missed a ft with seconds left that would have tied it and i hit a halfcourt shot with kobe to end the game just for good measure.....

LAL(92) fg 40/79(.506)3pt 9/23 (.391)ft 3/4 35reb(4off/31def) 5blk 9stl
POR(88) fg 39/77(.506)3pt 5/16 (.313)ft 5/12 39reb(6off?33def)0blk 8stl

LAL 20ast 11to 8fouls
Por 28ast 12to 6fouls

Kobe(57) 26/44(.591) 3pt 3/7(.429)2/2ft 8reb(1off)1blk 0stl 4ast 2to 3foul
Sheed(17) 8/12(.667) 3pt 1/4(.250)2/6ft 12reb(3off)0blk 4stl 1ast 1to 3foul

so come on guys, try this out.... it works!

Brilliant...

I did try it out, everything you suggested. I edited a bit cause i'm playing with college teams so i got rid of dunks mostly. Nehow, i edited everything with the RATINGS 2k3 ADJUSTER ,all the things you mentioned 'cept endurance cause its not avail. So i did all that, and i had probably the most intense game ever. Btw, i played on superstar and it was still very good game, slightly too much steals, but you warned us about htat so that's a given, i can always edit it. here are my stats:

Code: Select all
Entire Game         Pittsburgh       Duke

Points              87               88
Bench Scoring       8                30
Field Goals         33/66            36/62
Field Goal %        .500             .581
3 Point FG          4/9              8/25
3 Point %           .444             .320
Free Throws         17/27            8/14
Free Throw %        .630             .571
Rebounds            19               34
Off. Rebounds       2                6
Def. Rebounds       17               28
Blocks              5                8
Steals              19               6
Assists             18               17
Turnovers           11               23
Fouls               16               18

That my friend was the final score in OVERTIME, it was intense. J.J redick hit a 3pt with 0.8 on the clock to get the tie, absolutely incredible. You my friend are a life saver, i finally have a realistic game, well done, well done.
peace

well hey, spread the word my man, spread the word.....

yeah, the only way around the steal problem is to play on rookie, and the only way to lower your blocks is to lower your hops...

im also editing all rosters to reflect actual 3 point shooting % in the nba....
guys like peirce and walker shoot alot of 3's but dont have a great % im sick of them going 70% on me in three's

but unfortunatly there wont be a patch to download unless you play on ps2
ill send it via sharkport when i get the time.
