Hey all, just sharing a patchmaking Franchise-related story. Nothing you haven't seen before, though.
I was testing the latest unreleased version of the Live 2003 current rosters. I do that from time to time, especially when I've made some changes in DB Commander, just to make sure there are no DBF errors. All tests passed - no teams were left with 0 players, the game did not crash on any date, and the game proceeded to the next season.
I chose the Clippers, primarily because I believed they wouldn't make the playoffs. Seems I have some editing to do there.

I decided to be Donald Sterling and refused to re-sign all the free agents - Brand, Odom, Miller, Olowokandi, etc. I was able to pick them up later, in both the offseason's Sign Free Agents and then again after the season had started. I also managed to pick up another couple of highly rated players - Alonzo Mourning for example - so I decided I'd sim a few seasons, see just how many superstars I could pick up for the minimum, then re-sign to 7 year deals.
Three years later, I have three consecutive undefeated seasons and three straight NBA titles. This shouldn't surprise anyone, considering the team I was able to put together. Should I choose to continue that sim (I saved it), I will start the 2006/2007 season with the following roster:
That's still pretty fortunate, mostly the 90 overall players go to CPU teams for the minimum, but I was able to sign them for once. Certain proof that improvements to Free Agency and Franchise Mode in general would not go astray in NBA Live 2004.

The wishlist will be submitted soon.
Oh yeah, you'll be glad to know there's no serious technical problems with the roster patch.
