New Miami Heat Court & NewBackboard Update

Postby bchogan on Wed Mar 05, 2003 12:02 pm

I've updated my NewBackboard patch to V3.0, and I've included it in my Miami Court 2003 patch. The backboard patch is also available separate, but if you download the Miami court, you don't need to download the separate backboard patch.
The reason I included it is because I wanted to add that big yellow goal arm cover (or whatever you want to call it) to Miami's court. The backboard patch also fixes (for high res only) the problem that the graphics on the goal arm would not bounce with the rest of the arm after a dunk. The high res model also has an additional area for graphics on the diagonal goal arm (currently, none of my patches use this area, but I plan to use it in the future).
I've also moved the red end-of-quarter lights to the correct posistion for both high & low backboard models; this makes them harder to see, but it is more accurate.
As for the Miami Court itself, it changes the Heat court colors & graphics to look more realistic, including correct painted areas, court lines and nike.com drnas (plus the new backboard graphics).
I should mention that I've edited the backboard in such a way so that the goal arm cover does not appear in any of the original or patched court s, other than Miami's.

Yes, it's supposed to look like that; that's what I was talking about in my original message, on my site and in the read me file. If you've ever seen the Heat play at home, you'd know that it's supposed to look like that (it's not exact, but it's a lot closer than it was).

its not the court that crashes your game its a player face or accessory file ...check refuze's tutorial ...i havent had any sort of crashes since following that advice

Well I checked which player had a face patch or accessory patch, The only thing I had was the Rasual Butler tats, so I removed it and it still crashes. I also played a away game with the Heat and averything worked fine.

I removed the Heat court and now it runs good, so it has to be the court

no no Kobe4mvp......it's certainly some player's accessories from the away team which caused the crash...

I already had this problem and the solution is 2 reduce accessories' size, like Refuze said..

I checked my original files; the miami fsh file is 1.25mb! I didn't notice the size because the whole patch zipped with the backboard is only 256kb. I don't know how it got that big, but I'll try to fix it as soon as possible and get it re-uploaded. I actually wanted to fix a few things anyway, this just makes me want to do it sooner.

O.K., I figured out the problem. When I extracted the fsh file from the xcourt.viv, I inadvertantly chose to decompress the file. I'll try to have the updated patch up tomorrow; it'll have some graphics fixes as well.

NBA Courts

BCHOGAN,

Any chance you are going to update Sacramento & Cleveland, both have wrong end boards :?: End boards on cleveland shouldn't have the black circle around the net. Sacramento should have SK logo instead of KINGS logo.

Thanks,

Krock2 :?

I've got the new court fixed and uploaded; I'm going to make a separate announcement after I post this.
And I'm going to start working on Sacramento next.
