How can I change the shooting style of the players?

Postby demand1 on Thu Feb 13, 2003 9:50 pm

Hi,
does andybody know, how to change the shooting style of a player? I hate for example Dirk Nowitzki just putting his hands up, and throwing the ball away. That's not how Dirk shoots! Other Bigmen who can shoot like Peja Stojakovic, Pau Gasol, or Nikoloz Tskitishivili shoot like normal nba players. I looked in the players.dbf, but I didn't find anything, where I could change it. So pleasse help me
Thanx
Andy

yeah, i think there is something that prolly says how a player shoots, because, when i shoot with a pf or center (usually) they put their arms up really high to shoot, and with the guards, they shoot with the ball about directly above their head. i think if you change his position it might work.

I believe it's controlled by height rather than position. In the default roster, Nowitzki is listed as a SF, though in the intro he shoots in the aforementioned manner.

That would suggest it's controlled by a value in the DBF, though I haven't seen any field of that description in players.dbf.

Probably cause the big guys have to shoot over other big guys so they hold the ball higher to avoid getting blocked. You'd probably get blocked alot more if your C/PF starts shooting like a guard.

i think it the way the player shoots also depends on their weight...i tried changing Kevin Garnett's weight to 240 or 245 which is his real weight now and the way he shoots changed to that off duncan, dirk, david robinson, etc...well, that's what i've experinced so far...hope that helped...
