Created Player Cyberfaces

Postby donkey33 on Tue Feb 11, 2003 12:38 am

After creating someone, is there a cyberface for that created player that can be accessed with EAGE to edit?

Thanks

I did that but it doesn't show in EAGE. The only players under xplayer.viv are the ones that came with the game. No created player faces are there.

Is there anyway to access them?

if u create a player using the game,
then the way their look is defined by the dbf...
there is no fsh or vic created/edited....

If you created a player using teh game,
you can still edit him using the game (which is something alot of ppl don't know  or are too lazy too look)

Wat do u mean so u can put your own there?
did u make a luke..... cyberface?
if so, then u need to edit the player dbf file containing that playre,
edit the player package to ' LuRidno '
then create a folder with the same name in xplayer folder..
put all the o.files and required fsh files in there :?

I probably should've explained it better.

I can make the face using another player. I was just tired of trying to find players with the right skin color. Some of the skins in create-a-player suited what I needed so I was just seeing if there was any way to get that cyberface and edit it but that doesn't matter anymore.

A question though, I havent come across or used o.files before. I know they're just for different stuff,etc....but if I'm just creating a cyberface, do I need them. I havent needed them before.

I think you want to do what jowe was referring to. you need luridno.fsh. you'll have to get keith van horn or some white dude with that northwestern complexion. then the .o files that will give him his harpo marx/hobbit hair-do. maybe like ben wallace or something. its a lot of trial and error to find the right match of .fsh and .o.
you'll need to adjust your db as jowe described above, and in render>xplayer add the file luridno which will include:
luridno.fsh
luridno_loda.o
luridno_lodb.o
luridno_lodc.o
luridno_lodcu.o
luridno_lodd.o
luridno_loddu.o

sorry if I'm not helping. it doesn't sound like you want to edit your face in the edit created player. its a lot of work, but using the xplayer file gives you more freedom to make it look right.

go ducks!

Create-A-Player Faces Location

Postby ALK on Fri Feb 14, 2003 4:40 am

There are .viv files that contain the created player faces and head shapes:

Location of faces, hair, and facial hair:

C:\Program Files\EA Sports\NBA Live 2003\render\xpotato.viv

Faces: (zzzzzza.fsh-zzzzzzr.fsh)

Hair (zzzzzaz.fsh-zzzzzyz.fsh)

Facial Hair (zzzzazz.fsh-zzzzyzz.fsh)

and Location of their respective head shapes, if needed:

C:\Program Files\EA Sports\NBA Live 2003\render\xpblend

To find the code of your created player, you could look in the players.dbf file as mentioned in an earlier post.
If your not sure of the face you want you can just preview the faces, etc, by opening the .viv file with EA Graph.
When ready you can extract the files into a folder using viv magic or other compatible extracting program.[/b]

Off the top of your head, know any hairstyles that an NBA player has that looks like his.

I'm just going to try the luke face with say the ben wallace afro just to see what he looks like and if I can do it.

How can I extract the wallace hair-do. I don't know which one it is in eagraph?

Oh, ok. So I would struggle to give Ridnour that curly hair unless I put the cyberface on the player with the hair I want?

Anyone know of any NBA hairstyles that would be good to use for Ridnour (Look at pic in a message or 2 up).

Hair style and possible head/hair shape for Ridnour

Postby ALK on Sat Feb 15, 2003 4:56 am

You could try Dirk Nowitzki's hair style.

For the hair shape the small afro in create-a-player could work.

I think it is in the xpblend.viv file, but not sure which one it is.

I'm experimenting with the head shapes to try to determine which file is for the small afro.

Head shape

Postby ALK on Sat Feb 15, 2003 5:21 am

For the head shape you could try some of new head shapes from the Dirk Nowitzki Updates.

Yeah, I've seen some of the Dirk hairstyles. I'll try a few of them with the face to see if it looks ok.

Adding hair to face image.

Postby ALK on Sun Feb 16, 2003 12:58 pm

babyfresh24:

After you get the created player face and the hair/facial hair from the xpotato.viv file:

Open up both the hair image and the face image, then use the imaging program to select the the hair. You can select with the free-hand select tool or with the magic wand tool, which ever one works better, then copy/cut the hair selection and paste it onto the face image and move it into place.

Program to use.

What imaging programs do you have?

The best programs in my opinion to use would be Adobe Photoshop, Corel Photohouse, etc...
Imaging programs that allow layering.
