Freestyle Causing Turnovers

Postby bishibashiboy on Sun Jan 26, 2003 6:21 am

I was just wondering..do you guys know what stat to edit to affect a person's freestyle ability??..Am I right in assuming that it is dribbling??
Before I installed any patches..freestyle works fine..if I'm dribbling with Kobe..I can crossover..whatever..and I don't drop the ball for no reason. His dribbling rating was only at around 93.
Then I d/l'ed DK's roster today..and I notice that *MANY* players..regardless of the fact that their dribbling rating is around 90-99 keep dropping the ball when i freestyle. Kobe's rating is now 99 in this patch so I assume it's better than what i was playing with before. Anybody know why the ball keeps slipping when I freestyle?

more DRIBBLE = more dribbling moves
more QUICKNESS = faster freestyle control

I guess its a tossup between if you want players to be able to dribble by anyone because of dribble speed (original rosters) dribble at a normal speed (my rosters, and players don't lose the ball when using the crossover button for some reason :? but do when driving out of triple threat and on freestyle ) or if you want less moves available but a more normal speed (more quick less dribble)

Hopefully I'll have a solution for this in a day or 2, or maybe a happy medium.

The best way to judge the "relisticness" of dribble speed is the hesitation move, because if it moves so fast that a defender can never move over to defend the new path of the offensive player it makes the game too easy and unrealistic.

I just wish EA would hae released a good game to begin with or a patch to fix this crappy game.
