editing court graphics: a little different than 2001

Postby paul s. on Fri Jan 24, 2003 7:19 am

I have ran into some confusion on how to edit the courts for this years game. It 's been a while since i have made a court(2001), but just to see if im doing it right, correct me if im not following the steps correctly.

With the EAGE, i extracted the **crt&**o files, when im asked to decompress the files, i clicked yes,or was i supposed to click no? Then i took each of the sub-files, tlga, tend, etc and save them as .fsh files. After that, i saved every sub-file as a bitmap.

Where i run into trouble is when i look at the bitmaps for the center logo (tlga), the sideline logo(tend), the court name (rose garden, arco arena, etc), and the backboard, the image seems to be chopped in half, like if the "utah jazz" name on the end line would read, "jazz utah" as if the image was scrambled. I also noticed that on the court names (the ones that have them, are invisible except when you look at it from the pallette workbench you can see the court name,e.g "sbc center". :?: :?:

In 2001,i would edit the bitmaps, save them as fsh files again adjusting the opacity of the background beforehand, then import the files by using the "create a new shpi image by combining external fsh files." And then i was done.

Im just trying to figure out how to convert the fsh files into bitmaps that i can work on. The FSH tool im unfamiliar on how to work it or if i even need to utilize it. Also with the .o files i was wondering if a hex editor is all that you need to edit the colors of the courts. Im a little confused on how to operate it in reference to changing the shapes of certain areas. :?:

If i could please get some help on these issues, i could probably have at least 2 courts done within a day or so. BC Hogan, demon_ knights, or anyone,HELP!!!!!! The work from BC Hogan inspired me to make courts for 2001, i just hope i can hear from him or someone with specific knowledge of what im doing wrong so i could continue making patches for this years game. Again any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

converting FSH file into bitmap is very easy, when you have a FSH tool (this can be downloaded it here in NLSC). you just only drag the *.FSH file into nfsh.exe, then the extracted bitmap file will be in your desktop.
then you will see the bitmap files together with index.fsh.

You can open *.O file in OEDIT. (download OEDIT >> http://www.nd4spdworld.com/?section=util&v=6 )

i'm only a beginner in doing courts. ask BCHOGAN for more help.

Well i have experience in court editing, i talked to Bchogan and i can say you that it isn't possible to import graphics with good quality because of new compression level in those file, so we have to wait a new utility from Brien instead of EAGE.
