now i know why alex's maggette's face looks so real!!

if u drag alex's maggette's face file into fshtool, u will find that there is only one bmp file in it, which is of high resolution, instead of 4 or 5 images like in tony's and devastator's face patches... By doing this, the game will only read the high-res image file thus the preview will look great bcoz' there's no mid-res image to choose from!

NOTE: this tip i think is only for pple with shit graphic cards coz' nba live doen't let u set texture details to high..

How about shoes? Can the same method to obtain high textures be done with shoes resize at 256x256 resolution?

i dunno much abt adjusting the format of fsh files, so i guess u have to ask alex... All i noe how i found out is bcoz' i felt that something was amissed when maggette looks so real while devastator's face doesn't look as good as in the preview (coz' my video card sux).. den i found out maggette has only high-res face tex..

you can can make high res by convrting your .fsh to jpeg then increase the colors to 16 bit then after editing your work convert it again back to 8 bit then save it as bmp... use the fshtool to cnvrt it back to .fsh :wink:

i dont know if i believe this.... they would have to confirm it. not b/c i dont trust your opinion but there have been times i had to edit or delete patches b/c they dont have the 4 different resolutions... it crashes my game once they get far enough back....

It's not a matter of opinion... :roll:

It's true, it works, no real mistery there. It won't crash anything...it's perfectly fine to do...and i don't know why everybody doesn't do it...the only down sides to using high-res is that really dodgy computers wont be able to view it, and the .fsh file size is bigger (128kb in most cases, where as it is around 44kb normally).

Well His maggette looks real cause hes a great patcher :) About the high rez... it randomly crashes and some times gives the players a black head. I started off with only one rez then i found out there were 4.

Well it's true. And i actually use this many times. and it didn't crash my game once. The only down side to this method is you can't actually use them to players with blond hairs coz it will look very shiny in the game.

I just tried it and it doesn't work. Game crashes with shoes over 128x128. I tested a 256x256 shoe and it didn't work, just crashes. I guess only cyberfaces can be done. :(

look at the yugoslavia jersey patch released, it uses the high res method
