Salary

Postby Tazz on Fri Nov 15, 2002 3:48 am

First time player for NBA Live and can anyone tell me something on the salaries issue and how to

1. Change Player Points to actual salaries

2. Increase the total amount of points (the Salary Cap) for example from 1 millioin points to like 3 million. The reason being is that I cannot initiate any trades because it would put the team over the limit.

Actually...unless you edit some of the dbf files...you are out of luck on the changes.

However...you can work with the trading over the limit, by making sure that you trade for a player with similar stats and / or pay..or a combination of players that meet those requirements.

There is an interesting tutorial on this site:

The homepage for NBA Live 2003 on NLSC it explains it very well there.

To put the actual player salaries into the game you will have to edit the players.dbf file.

To edit the salary cap you will have to edit the salary.ini file found in the \NBA Live 2003\felogic directory.

This type of salary editing was done for NBA Live 2001...you might have some success if you look for a patch that somebody made for NBA Live 2001 and see how they did it and apply it to NBA Live 2003. The salary.ini file for NBA Live 2003 looks very much the same as that which was used for NBA Live 2001.

The salary cap can be changed by modifying salary.ini. All player salaries are modified by changing values in the dbf file.

I haven't added the DBF editing guides to the NBA Live 2003 section, as I intend to update them and add the new fields in the Live 2003 DBF files. I can't do that until I get the game though (since the Australian release keeps changing, I'm not sure when that will be).
