To People who don't like this game: ...

Try to forguet past live games, this game is nice and is way too dam dificult (so it is still funny even after a month of game play)

There's no need to use tweaked roster for play this like a "real" sim game. You have to change your defense every play. (i use full coutr till PG cross the line, so i change, for example, to double team, anfter he pass the ball go to zone, if the ball come to the post call bouble again. - That's why if you use a dual analog control you can put quick plays to be called in the normal pad)

Other tips: don't try to block all the time, At first i was blocking 30 time a game and loosing every one by 30 points, now i only block 5 and i'm 8-9 with Magics (no tweaked roster) in SUPERSTAR.

To drop CPU FG% put you arms up when cpu are jumpig for the field goal.

Inside use face up + take a charge, ou double team, or try to block (depending o who is your defender and who is other player) Example: agains O'Neal only double and charge are efective (put him in foul trouble)

Use the matchup option on defense to put high pressure over the oposite PG (no madder who he is - it will drop assists to normal status about 5 - 10 a game), put high pressure on best shooters, and low on terrible one's (they will trow it more)

Always work the ball, if you try go to the basket as fast you can the cpu will do the same, if you work the ball cpu will work the ball too (of course if you let open players to take the ball you are death "fast" meat)

This is the best Live ever, the first one I'm not able to win every single game.

PS: i'm playing 10 min quarter:
My numbers: PPG 106, oposite PPG 109, RPG 34, BPG 5, ASPG 30, STPG 4, FPG 17, TPG 15,

Agreed.

Everyone was complaining how easy the other NBA live games were. Now everyone is crying about how difficult this one is.

I think it is more fun to have a difficult game rather than one where you beat the cpu by 20+ points on the hardest settings.

people who complain how difficult how live is..

they just complain because..

THEY SUCK AT LIVE!!!

quit bitching and start practicing. EA customized this game for you by putting in a practice mode.

Hey just a quick ques,

1stly nice post and i agree, least the difficulty levels increased dramiticly since previous live's.

Anyway, how do you put your hands up when someone shoots cause it only works 20% of the time for me. Normally it just trys to take a charge. any idea?

I havent got a dual gamepad, yet, so how do you do this on with the keyboard?

Thanks

yep
stebel981 is right

you guys just suck. that's why ea put in practice mode. in real life nba games, you don't see to many turnovers because they're pros. but in the game, i bet you guys just throw crazy passes, which the computer can easily intercept the ball for a quick fast break. try practicing in practice mode or use the 1-on-1 mode and practice there 1-on-1 so u will know wat to do if you use the isolation play during 5-on-5.

by the way, this game is so much easier than earlier versions. even with these attributes

fg - 50
blk -50
stl -50
def reb - 60
off reb -55
dunk -60
speed -65
quick - 60
strngth - 65
def aware - 65
off aware -65
inside score - 55
3pt - 55

with low attributes on all my players like that, i can easily but my opponent by 10 points in superstar mode

Exception there; The players pass to the interior of the player inbetween the offensive player and defensive player therefore often an reachable steal. Sure its good for back door and cutting to the basket but often it leads to turn overs.

You do have to be more careful with your passes though, that was something that was abused from previous Live's to beat the computer.

I started the game off by playing on Starter, then moved my way up to All-Star. That transition wasn't too tough. I dominated fairly easily on both modes. In my franchise, I turned it up a notch to Superstar and there was a HUGE curve there.
I regularly got my ass kicked in the beginning, because I played like shit:
I had bad shot selection, I couldn't rebound, I had WAYYY too many turnovers (especially in the 4th quarter), and I couldn't play defense.
Eventually, I learned how to play on Superstar, and I rarely lose now. I usually don't get blown out, although sometimes it happens (in games when I'm rebounding badly and am shooting a real low FG%). I can come back from 10-15 point deficits going into the final quarter, and am really happy with the game on the whole.
I beat the Lakers in the NBA Finals with the Celtics 4-2 on Superstar, and it was so fucking insane. Those were without a doubt, the hardest games I have ever played, but they were also the most fun.
I haven't mastered Superstar, because I still lose in my franchise. That's a good thing though, because games get really boring if you never lose. Losing makes you want to go back, make adjustments and see if they work better next time.

it's good to hear that you guys are happy with the scoring pace using the non-tweaked rosters. On my part, I started a season averaging 120+ points in 12 mins and I am winning most of my games.

I was quite happy with the way I played. however, I still couldn't find the scores to be realistic because I was used to the 80's to 90's score and the fact that the real scores are at that level. So I stopped the season and searched for tweaked rosters.

I enjoy games that are defensive oriented, heck my most memorable game in nbalive 2000 was when I used my chicago franchise in a game 7 semi-finals and beat miami 64-62. Looks really boring to other people but defense is my passion.

So I downloaded the tweaked rosters by DK and it was the first time I enjoyed the game. I loved it, and i won using Sacramento to beat Portland (12 min) 99-84. Now I see hope. I can't wait to start a franchise with the new tweaked rosters.

I understand people enjoy the game in different ways. I also understand people who gripe because the game did not address their needs. I felt that way at one point however I just did not quit in finding solutions to make the game better for me. I just wish EA would design the game to have more options for different people with different preferences.

Peace to all! This is the only game that makes up my time and i appreciate the tips that other users share.
