Today i uninstalled Nba Live 2003 because i cant stand the AI cheating. In the last minutes of a game and if the AI is behind the score your players lose the ball easily you miss easy shots. And the worst of all you lose even lay ups. With noone besides him your player can lose a layup.Thats disguisting
So no more NBA2003 for me

1.) Take a deeeeep breath...
2.) Check your mail.
3.) Read this.

Best results...Superstar, simulation, all NBA rules ON, 9-min quarters, Def fouls - MAX, Off fouls - 50%, Auto Subs - ON, Crash boards - OFF...

Gameplay Hints:
1.) Play the game, well...like a real NBA game and you'll achieve excellent results. Set picks, call plays, take good shots and most importantly - get back on D!

2.) +/- ratings for YOUR custom team according to your skill level to keep the game competitive.

3.) Use the following formula as a handicap until your skill level increases: your PG, SG, SF +13 = Speed/Quick

this will allow you to use Zone or Man to Man defenses w/o getting fast broke on excessively. However if you take quick/bad shots or TO the ball fast breaks will still occur - which is the way it s/b.

Those were some helpful hints...I play NBA live 2003 on X-Box...you cant patch a console game...

I just got finished getting my butt kicked out of the Western Conference Finals in over time by the mavericks...more Steve Nash and Mike Finley then the rest.

Nash- 52pts 17asts 9 stls 6blocks and shot 13/20 from the three...I mean he was just nailing them left and right with my best defenders hanging off of him. in the face of double teams, triple teams, zones...and at least 3 of the shots he made he got fouled on and made the free throw.

And you all know what Finley did. as soon as I missed a shot he was dunking the ball...

Ironically enough, out side of the fact that the computer cheats and steals the ball from you easy...the game is really retro...the way the break is run is the way they used to play back in the old days...just more dunks...

I only beat this game when I play somebody else...I've beat it a few times, but out of the 60 times I've played it in the last 3 weeks I've probably only won about 8 games against the computer AI...

EVERY TIME I TRY TO CHASE DOWN A LOOSE BALL I GET BEAT!!! I PLAYED AGAINST KOBE ONE ON ONE AND WHEN I BLOCKED HIS SHOT AND TRIED TO CHASE IT DOWN KOBE COMES UP BEHIND ME, MY GUY STOPS RUNNING AND KOBE GETS THE BALL!!!!

I really like the game...but I think that for the next version the only redeeming factor is the freestyle controle...I think it's wasted on such arcady game-play. I re-member being one of the people actually asking for it like 2-3 years ago on this site...

Irony...finally got what I asked for, but the game is not too tight...

My strat of w

In my third franchise season (yes, i'm challenged  ) i use such settings: Superstar, 4 min qtrs, CPU assit ON, Shot control CPU.

In-game settings (can those be saved to be used for the WHOLE franchise not just for one game? i think no):

Full court press - i manage to get 4-5 steals in their zone (provided their PG is not a superstar). Drawback - increased vulnerability to fastbreaks, since your players on defence will stick like flies to the $hit they own - C to C, PF to PF, etc.
Box out OFF (just a prejudice tho, tried everything, and they still box out)
Crash boards OFF
Autosubs ON (switch OFF in the 4th qtr.).

Rule No. 1: Never take a three-pointer if you're not wide open, because that will usually result in -2 pts. (fastbreak). I have steve nash, brent barry, morris peterson, mike miller (see below to learn how i obtained them) but take only 4-5 3pt attempts/game;

Rule No. 2: C and PF are very prone to TOs and blocks so i best choose a PG, SG or SF, whoever has the highest rating, do a spin and shoot - high chances of scoring, low chances of getting blocked.

I was very lucky after the second season to be the fifth team on the calendar - this way i got access to the pool full of high-rating players with their dumb-ass agents - "want some 80-85 overal-rating player for a minimum? want six of those?" Now it's a lot easier to win.
