NBA Live 2003 Patch #1

EA Sports has released the first patch for their basketball sim, NBA Live 2003. The update is currently only available via the game auto-updater (Start --> Programs --> EA SPORTS --> NBALive2003 --> Check for Update), and fixes slow frame rate issue under Win98, 98 SE and ME, as well as other issues related to Sidewinder Gameport Controller and "ESC key pressed during Pause Menu".

This Patch has the following fixes/improvements:

Fixed issue with slow frame rates under Windows 98, Windows 98 SE and Windows ME when using USB devices.
Fixed issue with Microsoft Sidewinder Gameport Controller functionality disappearing during Gameplay.
Fixed issue where pressing the ESC key during the Pause Menu or Quarter Breaks skipped the current quarter.
Added ESRB disclaimer to the EA SPORTS Online entry page.

i would like to ask how do i know that ive installed the patch... yesterday i did get a message with 2 thumbs up that says patch installed. but when i tried using 2 players one on keyboard and one on microsoft sidewinder, it still doesnt get the job done. the sidewinder is still gone after a few minutes sometimes it doesnt even starts a game. only the keyboard is available. why is this so.
