DirectX9 Available

Postby Full Surface on Wed Jan 01, 2003 2:31 pm

http://download.microsoft.com/download/ ... bsetup.exe

That's the English version, if you want another language package go to http://www.microsoft.com/directx

DX9 improved my NBA Live 2003 a whole lot. The graphics are so much better, sounds are smoother, and the game runs faster.

DX9.0 is fully backward compatible. Beyond that, if you have further questions, consult with the faq at the webpage.

On a side note, my game runs alot smoother as well since the upgrade. Good stuff.

You can reinstall it from your NBA Live 2003 CD.

I seemed to have an increase in performance using DirectX 9.0 as well...although it may be just in my head :).

Doesn't your card manufacturer have to come out with drivers that support direct x 9 first before we see a difference?

I don't think Nvidia came out with any new drivers that directly support direct x9 yet? But hopefully, they will soon

Right, this is correct. MAJOR change with driver support in other words. However, I have noticed an improvement even without. Used Fraps and it reported a slight increase. On top of that, the game actually runs smoother. Trust me, I'm very observant regarding these type of things and know improvement when I see it. Example, I switched to maximum texture settings and the game run without hiccup as opposed to pre-DX9.0.
