Changing the arena and court configuration

Postby madison2003 on Wed Jan 01, 2003 9:23 am

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I found the program called O edit. (Found out about it from da_andy, who did not have a link) here is the adress: http://www.fifamexico.net/descargas/FIF ... ramientas/

It's a site in spanish, but its the first item on the list, so it shouldnt be too hard to find.

O EDIT will allow you to edit the court shapes, i.e. lines and logo positions, it will also let you texture them.

Also if you have win XP use the compatability mode for Win98.

Textures and what the texture
---------------------------------------------------------------
odrn = = Dornas (Scorekeepers table front)
olin = = court lines
olio = = key area and block
otbl = top of Scorekeepers table
ovnl = = chair seat colors
tbak = = chair back design
tbbd = =back board and supporter
tend = = end of court art work
tgla = = Center court logos
tlgc = = designs in corner of court, i.e. stars on dallas court
tlgd = = arena name/logo
tlgo = = ?????tunnel logo?????
tnba = = NBA logo for court

If anyone has additions or something to change post it here and I'll edit.

I'm not sure but i think you can name custom textures what you want, as long as you map them to the right faces using O EDIT.

you just have to edit it with o. editor, try to find it out. You can move almost everything you want. It's a great editor!

for adding another 3pt line, just use Sacramento's court then edit the colors and logos.

and andy, can you rename the textures to whatever you want? or must you use the old ones?

I posted the following in the other post that is exactly the same as this one in the Live 2003 Patching Issues forum :roll:.

Yes, with OEdit you can edit most of the 3D objects in the game...except headshapes :( .

OEdit is made for EA's Need For Speed series but also works for the NBA Live series, FIFA series, NHL series etc. There are a few patches out there for NBA Live 2003 already which include .O files that have been modified using OEdit.

For those of us who don't speak Spanish...you can find OEdit here :):

http://www.nd4spdworld.com/?section=util&v=6

I will also mention that you can not add vertices using OEdit...only move existing vertices. This means that you can move the three point line but you can't add another one. The other question is whether the game will recognise that the three point line has moved and give the correct amount of points depending on where the player shoots from. I suspect that it will probably work based only on the fact that the 50's court has no three point line and the game recognises that and does not give three points for long shots...but you never know.

I was thinking that moving the court lines would be pretty cool in making a court that has an international style key...

it depends on the court. for example in dallas it is the key area as well as the line around the key area.

is it possible to make the courts longer and wider? i can get into the court o files and change the lengths on the front view screen, and then import it back using vivedit, but it doesn't show any change in the game. is there something else that needs to be edited?
